Today we’d like to introduce you to Cierra Brooks.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Cierra. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
It all started in East Baltimore, Maryland where I was born and raised. As a child, my parents said people would tell them all the time how I had a light that lit up any room.
Fast forward to 28 years later, I’m here in Los Angeles, California living out my wildest dreams. I was just the young age of 19, in my last semester, studying Physics at Morgan State University, when was given the opportunity to work with America’s Next Top Model in New York City. Of course, it was a hard decision, but as always I follow my heart and passion, so I took on the Big Apple.
Things went well until creative differences collided landing me back in the corporate world. It was good, and the pay was great, but I realized how my happiness was compromised. I’m always big on, only doing things if it truly brings you happiness so from there I decided to jump back into the entertainment industry starting the media outlet, Deep Cover TV.
Within just three months Deep Cover TV took the industry by storm interviewing top artist such as Cardi B, Wyclef Jean, Remy Ma, Lil Boosie, Jadakiss just to name a few.
After seeing the work we accomplished independently, I mean no sponsorships, no handouts, no favors, no big corporation name attachment, just all hustle, Radio One decided to offer us a talk show which took Deep Cover TV to new heights giving me the courage to take my next step, a one way ticket to LA.
I decided to move to take the risk of “trying” LA out for at least one month, well one year and a few months later I’m still here. My story is meant to inspire and show others that anything you want to do can be obtained with the right mindset and consistency. Always follow your heart and make sure what you do always counts.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Some obstacles that I’ve endured along the way is being a smart female with something to actually offer other than looks in this “male-dominated” industry. I realized that when I walk in any room, I must first demand respect. So I always make sure I am very attentive when first meeting a person because as we all know the first impression is everything.

So I am a jack of all trades. Cierra Brooks is not just a name, but it’s a brand in the flesh. I am an on-air personality, and you may have also saw me on your tv screens but ultimately my day to day job is helping others. I help rising talent with brand management, media consulting, press runs and all around marketing.
Also, I’m taking my love for music to the next level by tapping into the position of A&R. The most I’m proud of is that, I am a prime example of how you can legit achieve anything you set your mind to opposed to being boxed in to just one thing.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Favorite memory from childhood is riding bikes and skating like actually outdoor activities. I feel like nowadays kids don’t enjoy life gifts such as nature, technology is constantly changing and today’s kids will never know anything about walking to the corner store to get a bag of chips, twist donut, and a juice all for $1 lol.
