Today we’d like to introduce you to Sciarra.
Sciarra, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I started singing at a young age in musical theater and fell in love with it immediately. I loved being on stage and performing in front of an audience. I ended up doing various shows regionally and gaining as much experience as I could to further pursue singing and performing. I also started performing in local talent shows and coffee shops around town.
At the time, I was also writing a lot of poetry. I always loved words and being able to convey the way I was feeling through them. I ended up with full notebooks of poetry and song concepts. From there, I decided to start putting melodies to my poetry which turned into writing original songs. I ended up finding local producers to work with and put together a pop-rock project and wrote an EP. Soon after, I started attending dance music festivals which inspired me to start my own dance project. I loved how one person could create all of these songs on their own and had their own vision for each aspect of the song. It inspired me to start learning music production and how everything comes together. I released several singles and experimented with different electronic genres.
During that time, I started writing a lot of music for TV/Film which gave me experience expanding my writing skills and gave me even more insight to what I really wanted to do with my project. I started writing a lot of dark cinematic songs which quickly became my favorite style to write. I always have loved the dramatic music in movies and the way that the music takes you to a different place. I decided from there to start fresh and start releasing the cinematic music that I have written which the first single will come out in February.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
My goal with my music project is to help others through their darkest moments and know that they are not alone. I feel like there needs to be more music reflecting what’s really going on in the world today. I hope to bring more truth through my music that people will relate to and know they are not the only ones dealing with hardships. I know writing music has helped me through many situations and I hope I can even help one person deal with theirs.
How do you think about success, as an artist, and what do quality do you feel is most helpful?
I define success as releasing music you are proud of and stand behind 100%. I think it’s very important as an artist to be authentic and bring your real experiences to your work. If you are bringing your own unique vision and story to your music people will fall in love with it and want to be a part of your journey. We are all connected and can all have a voice to help each other in a chaotic world.
