Meet Knoxxy of DVMN PIGEON NEW YORK in Downtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Knoxxy.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Knoxxy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
So, UM, I had to get out of New York, I had this brochure from the art institute of Hollywood, enrolled, dropped out after three months. Found a fellow student of mine who could sell and another who could sew, I moved her in with me as pay to create what was in my head. The rest is history, her story, lol.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Well, it was a bumpy road and on bumpy roads, you got to take a horse. You can’t drive a sports car on a bumpy road, so the struggle was real. I understand and accept that my success won’t come overnight, I must take the stairs! and I’m OK with that. Like Jay said, “progress is a slow process & I ain’t got nothing but time.”

Please tell us about DVMN PIGEON NEW YORK.
Well for starters, I am a black lesbian, in Hollywood, who designs and sells men’s clothing. It just makes me proud to see my customers wearing “Dvmn Pigeon” across their chest. If you sit back and take it all in, it’s pretty impressive lol!

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Just playing outside. Disregarding all the millennial things we have now. No phone, no computer, just my bike, a basketball and the streets. I loved to climb trees and ride with the bros.

It’s not a memory I remember most, it’s the feel; stranger things type shit.
