Daily Inspiration: Meet Evelyne, Tony, Sean Diadhiou, Frei, Johnson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Evelyne, Tony, Sean Diadhiou, Frei, Johnson.

Hi Evelyne, Tony, Sean, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Sean started out playing trumpet and learned guitar at 14 years old. He followed that up with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance where he met Evelyne who also attended UMBC.

Evelyne began her singing career in church as a small child followed by choir in high school. After college she moved to Miami where she met her husband Tony.

Tony has been in bands throughout Miami since his youth. During the pandemic he leaned into his habits picking up his guitar and Evelyne joined in.

When Evelyne & Tony moved to LA in 2022 & Sean later in 2023, we decided to create the band, Vibes and Audacity. We are a 90’s & 2000’s band who draw inspiration from rom com soundtracks.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There’s been some bumps along the way but luckily we get along well as a group. Most of the issues we’ve faced have been more on the logistical side i.e. technical difficulties.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Sean works as a teacher and is currently a member of a number of bands including the Genre that Never Was.

Tony is currently working on-set as an actor & is known for his Miami punk bands Grunk & Alukard.

Evelyne works as a beauty model and French medical interpreter.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Moving cross-country to pursue music as transplants in LA can be risky in & of itself. No risk no reward, am I right?
