Today we’d like to introduce you to Patti Negri.
Hi Patti, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve definitely taken the winding — and very scenic — route to get where I am. I’ve always followed passion, curiosity, intuition, and just a little bit of magick. Long before television or books or podcasts, I was the kid who felt energy, talked to spirits, loved old folklore, and believed there was more to this world than what we can physically see.
Over the years, that path led me through acting, entertainment, metaphysical studies, mediumship, paranormal investigation, and eventually into teaching and writing. I never really separated the mystical from the practical — to me, magick has always been about empowerment, creativity, healing, and connection.
What started as a deeply personal spiritual path slowly turned into a career I could never have imagined. Today I’m incredibly grateful to work as a psychic-medium, author, and ‘Good Witch of Hollywood,’ appearing on shows like Ghost Adventures, writing books like Old World Magick for the Modern World and Dollcraft, hosting podcasts, teaching classes around the world, and helping people reconnect to their own intuition and sense of wonder.
Honestly, the biggest lesson of my journey has been that the strange little things that make you different are often the exact things you’re meant to embrace. I followed the breadcrumbs — and somehow they led me here.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No — definitely not a completely smooth road, but honestly, I think the twists and challenges helped shape who I am and what I do. Choosing a path in the paranormal, spiritual, and metaphysical world isn’t exactly the most traditional career choice, especially when I first started. There were certainly people who dismissed it, misunderstood it, or treated it as something fringe rather than something meaningful and transformative.
And being a woman in both the entertainment world and the paranormal field — which can still be surprisingly male-dominated in many ways — sometimes meant having to work a little harder to be taken seriously beyond the ‘character’ or novelty of being ‘the witchy woman.’ I wanted people to see not just the glamour or mystery, but the real knowledge, experience, professionalism, and heart behind what I do.
There were also the very real ups and downs of building an unconventional career. Before social media and podcasts made these subjects more mainstream, there weren’t many clear roadmaps for someone wanting to combine spirituality, media, teaching, paranormal investigation, and entertainment into an actual living. A lot of it was built one opportunity, one class, one appearance, and one believer at a time.
But I truly believe that following an authentic path — even when it’s unusual — eventually creates its own momentum. And now it’s beautiful to see intuition, witchcraft, mindfulness, energy work, and spiritual exploration becoming part of a much bigger cultural conversation. In many ways, the things we once had to whisper about are finally being talked about out loud.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I wear quite a few magical hats these days! I’m a psychic-medium, author, television personality, speaker, teacher, and what many people lovingly call the ‘Good Witch of Hollywood.’ I’m probably best known for my recurring appearances on Ghost Adventures, my books Old World Magick for the Modern World and Dollcraft, and for helping bring spirituality, intuition, witchcraft, and the paranormal into a more positive, empowering, and approachable light.
My work really lives at the intersection of mysticism and real life. I specialize in mediumship, practical magick, haunted doll and spirit communication work, paranormal investigation, intuitive development, and teaching people how to reconnect with their own inner power and intuition. Whether I’m leading a séance, teaching a class, investigating a haunted location, writing, podcasting, or working with clients privately, my goal is always the same: to take the fear out of the unknown and replace it with curiosity, empowerment, respect, and wonder.
What I’m probably most proud of is creating a career and community built around authenticity. I’ve never wanted to be the dark, scary, intimidating gatekeeper of the mystical world. I wanted people to feel welcomed into it. I wanted people to realize that magick and intuition can exist alongside humor, joy, compassion, glamour, creativity, and everyday life.
I also think what sets me apart is that I genuinely bridge several worlds that don’t always naturally connect — Hollywood, paranormal investigation, witchcraft, spirituality, education, and entertainment. I can walk into a television set, a haunted prison, a university lecture, a séance room, or a room full of brand-new students and still be completely myself in all of them.
At the end of the day, I think people respond to authenticity. I love what I do, I respect it deeply, and after all these years, I still feel excited and grateful every single time I get to share a little magick with someone.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success has changed for me over the years. Earlier in life, like many people in entertainment, I probably measured it more by visibility, opportunities, or external accomplishments. And of course those things are wonderful — I’m incredibly grateful for the television work, the books, the podcasts, the live events, and all the amazing people I’ve met along the way.
But honestly, at this point in my life, I define success much more deeply. Success is waking up excited about what I do. It’s being able to make a living while staying authentic to who I am. It’s helping people feel inspired, empowered, healed, seen, or just a little less afraid of the unknown.
Success is also freedom — creative freedom, spiritual freedom, and the freedom to keep evolving. I’ve built a career in a field that many people once dismissed as ‘too strange’ or ‘too niche,’ and I’m proud that I never had to completely compromise myself to fit into someone else’s box.
And honestly, some of my biggest moments of success aren’t the flashy Hollywood moments at all. They’re the messages from students who discovered their confidence, people who found comfort after loss, or someone telling me that a class, reading, or conversation helped them reconnect to joy, purpose, or hope again. That means everything to me.
To me, real success is creating a life that feels aligned — where your work, your spirit, your passion, and your heart are all moving in the same direction.
