Hi Daniel, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey with food started in restaurant kitchens, where I fell in love with the craft, discipline, and hospitality behind Japanese cuisine. Until the pandemic hit and many of us chefs suddenly lost our jobs. It was a difficult time, but it also pushed me to rethink everything.
Instead of waiting for restaurants to reopen, I started bringing sushi experiences directly into people’s homes. What started as a small idea during uncertain times slowly grew through word of mouth, relationships, and clients who connected with what we were creating.
Today, Roshi Experience has become more than just a business to me. It’s a way to create meaningful moments, bring people together, and share the kind of hospitality I’ve always believed in. Looking back, I’m grateful that one of the hardest seasons of my life led me to build something so personal and fulfilling.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not. Like many small businesses, Roshi Experience was built through a lot of uncertainty, long nights, and learning things the hard way.
One of the biggest challenges was wearing every hat at the beginning: being the chef, the coordinator, the marketer, and the business owner all at once. There were moments of doubt and exhaustion, but I kept reminding myself why I started in the first place.
What helped me overcome those challenges was staying consistent, focusing on the client experience, and surrounding myself with a great team and supportive family. Looking back now, those struggles shaped the foundation of who we are today.

Roshi Experience is a luxury private sushi and omakase experience based in Southern California. We specialize in bringing a Japanese private sushi dining experience to the comfort of your home, whether it’s an intimate dinner or a special celebration,
What we’re really known for is the level of care and hospitality we bring into every event. For us, it’s never just about serving great sushi, it’s about creating an atmosphere where people can slow down, connect, and make memories around food.
I think what sets us apart is that we’ve stayed very intentional as we’ve grown. We focus heavily on personalization, consistency, and genuine hospitality.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that Roshi Experience was built organically through relationships, word of mouth, and trust.
More than anything, I want people to know that Roshi Experience is built on passion, resilience, and heart. We truly love what we do, and our goal is always to leave people with an experience they’ll remember long after the meal is over.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I think people would be surprised by how emotional and personal this work can be. We’re often invited into some of the most meaningful moments in people’s lives—anniversaries, birthdays, proposals, family gatherings—and I never take that lightly. Behind every event, there’s a real human connection, and that’s honestly the part of this work that means the most to me.
