Shabalinko, born and raised in Abuja, is the trailblazer behind New 90’s, a groundbreaking Afro-Dancehall sound that fuses Dancehall and Afrobeats. His unique style and heartfelt lyrics are making waves across the industry, marking him as one of the most exciting artists to watch.

Since launching my professional career in 2016 in leads city university with my hit single Flex and brand which was produced by E Kellybeatz, Shabalinko has steadily carved out his space in the music world. then i worked with Blaisebeats on New 90’s before my debut project, New 90’s Boy, features standout collaborations with top-tier acts like Odumodublvck.Known for his bold, trend-setting fashion and his commitment to pushing boundaries, Shabalinko’s persona is as distinct as his sound.
creating a fresh and untapped lane in global music.
Currently Gearing towards my album Afro beats and Pimping which is ready for release, Shabalinko is positioned to dominate Nigeria and the world at large

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
just like every other independent artist without major label backing, building a career from the ground up has been both a challenging and demanding journey. Everything my team and I have achieved so far has been driven purely by our own effort, belief, creativity, and determination to keep pushing forward despite the limitations we face.

Beyond recording songs, there are expenses tied to production, mixing and mastering, visuals, music videos, marketing campaigns, promotions, branding, distribution, content creation, travel, performances, and maintaining a consistent presence online. All of these require significant financial support, and for independent artists, those costs often come directly out of pocket. But i have loved every bit of the journey along the way especially the creative freedom , i learnt a lot and still learning the business. I love being an independent artist and they is price to pay for that.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Currently, I specialize in a sound I describe as Afro Dance hall mixed with a new-age 90’s vibe. My music is heavily influenced by Afro beats, Dance hall, R&B, and Hip-Hop, but I always blend these sounds in my own unique way to create something fresh and different. I focus on creating music that carries energy, melody, rhythm, and personality while still sounding authentic to me as an artist.

What I’m mostly known for is my uniqueness both in my sound and my fashion. I’ve always believed in standing out rather than following trends. From the way I make music to the way I dress and present myself visually, I make sure my brand is different from the crowd. I don’t try to sound or look like everybody else, and I think that originality is one of the reasons people remember me.

Right now, one of the things I’m most proud of is my upcoming album called “Afro beats and Pimping.” The concept behind the project is that I “pimped” Afro beats by blending it creatively with Dance hall, R&B, and Hip-Hop in a way that fits my own taste and artistic vision. It’s not just about making songs,it’s about creating a whole sound, atmosphere, and identity that feels fresh and unique.

What truly sets me apart is my creativity and individuality. I’m not afraid to experiment, take risks, and create my own lane. I believe being unique is my strongest quality, and that’s what continues to separate me from others in the industry.

What’s next?
Definitely expect my debut album Afro beats and Pimping, expect more of me, more timeless Art and masterpiece.
