Hi Jamelle, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Jamelle Sanders. I am the founder and CEO of Jamelle Sanders International LLC. I am an author, speaker, visionary, thought leader, and global influencer. JSI is a global management, consulting, and advisory firm serving clients in the public and private sectors and empowering them to fulfill purpose, realize their full potential, and make a global impact. What started as a small dream in my heart has grown into a global brand with a global footprint. From the original concept of a coaching firm, I experienced my share of setbacks, disappointments, and failures. After the business almost collapsed three times, I went back to the drawing board, gained clarity, and rebranded the firm as a consulting firm. After this, the company started to turn around, and the company is now serving clients all around the globe. I had a very humble beginning. Initially, it started with providing exceptional service to one client. From there, my name and reputation grew, and my work started to be highly sought after all around the world. I just wanted to empower leaders to realize their full potential and provide them with the tools, strategies, and development resources that they needed to move the world forward. Today, JSI is an award-winning global firm. JSI seeks to move the world forward through world-class management consulting and prophetic development. JSI has earned a reputation for excellence through a strategic-prophetic development approach.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, I wish I could tell you that this has been a cake walk. As I mentioned earlier, this has been a very challenging journey. Initially, JSI was a coaching company. When I started the business more than a decade ago, everyone was coaching, and I thought that was my lane as well. However, after the first 2-3 years, I realized that this was not working and it was not sustainable. I am one of the few entrepreneurs who will admit that my firm almost collapsed three times. Honestly, I had no idea what I was doing, and that was a major problem. While my background is in finance, and I even spent some time working in the consulting industry, I realized that my business model was broken, and it was not beneficial. Just as I was getting ready to walk away from the business, I had a conversation with a mentor that changed my life forever. It was during this conversation that I realized that the real problem with my business was not a lack of clients or a lack of profitability. Instead, the real problem with my business was a lack of clarity. When I gained clarity, it was the game-changer for me in my life and business. I did not have a coaching business, nor did I enjoy coaching. My zone of genius was in the consulting and advisory space. I did my best work when I was consulting and advising leaders on business, development, strategy, innovation, etc. When I finished the rebrand, what I had struggled to do for several years flowed seamlessly. The media reached out to me without any effort on my part. Doors started to open, and I found myself on some of the largest platforms in the world. Clarity will attract everything you need to live the life you were born for. Moreover, clarity will place you on the cutting edge. Clarity is the greatest comparative advantage you can ever have in business.

How do you define success?
Success for me is very different than most people. In fact, I believe that most people get success all wrong. If you ask most people what success is, they will name for you all the accoutrements of success. However, wealth, influence, and power are benefits of success. However, none of these things is what actually makes a person successful. From almost forty years of experience, I can truly say that success is not about what you acquire. Success is all about who you become in the process. While I am an award-winning entrepreneur with global influence, I remember when all I had was a dream in my heart. I had no idea how that dream would become a reality, but I held on to it. Today, my name has become associated with influence and power. However, I embodied those things before I ever had the evidence of them in my life. As someone who consults leaders all around the world, I tell them never to substitute the trinkets of success for true success. What is true success? True success is the transformation that happens on the inside of you. True success is every lesson you ever learn, every battle you have ever fought and won, and every piece of wisdom that this journey has taught you. True success is ultimately about you awakening to your significance and becoming who you were born to be. True success is becoming the highest expression of who God created you to be.
