Conversations with Santeck

Today we’d like to introduce you to Santeck.

Hi Santeck, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey with music started back in childhood when I first picked up the acoustic guitar and began exploring different artistic projects. However, as I grew older, my connection to electronic music completely took over. For a while, I lived a double life. I wanted to build a solid foundation, so I balanced my musical career with a degree in Business Administration and a day job at a bank. It was a massive grind, but it taught me the discipline and business acumen that I still use in my career today. Four years ago I managed to transition fully into my passion, and I hold a residency at Mahau, one of São Paulo’s premier venues. I’ve also had the privilege of sharing my knowledge by mentoring the next generation of DJs and producers at Playad, a music school. And for about two years now, I’ve been DJing on cruise ships at the end of every year. Looking back, every step was essential to shaping the artist and professional I am today as I look toward the global stage.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I believe the bumps along the way are what gave me the resilience I have today. One of the biggest struggles early on was managing that ‘double life’, waking up early to work at a bank, studying Business Administration, and then spending my nights and weekends producing music and DJing. There were endless days of sleep deprivation and moments where I questioned if I could sustain both. To make things even more challenging, navigating the pandemic was a massive hurdle. Suddenly, the nightlife industry completely vanished with no events or parties, and at the same time, I didn’t have that bank job to rely on anymore. It was a period of absolute uncertainty where everything was frozen. Surviving that phase required a lot of mental strength and creative pivoting. Choosing to fully commit to music right after that and leaving the stability of the corporate world behind was a huge leap of faith.

Building a brand from scratch, earning the trust of major venues, and breaking into competitive markets, like securing consistent gigs on cruise ships, require a lot of patience. But honestly, overcoming those hurdles taught me that being a successful artist isn’t just about talent; it’s about discipline, strategy, and treating your passion like a business.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an electronic music DJ and producer, bridging the creative side of music with a highly disciplined, corporate-style work ethic. I am best known for my ability to connect deeply with the crowd, whether at clubs or performing on cruise ships. What I am most proud of is my dual impact on the scene, performing at a high level while also helping shape the new generation of talent as an instructor at a music school. What sets me apart from others is my background in Business Administration and banking. While many artists focus solely on the creative aspects, my corporate foundation gives me a unique perspective on strategy, professional branding, and consistency. I treat my career and my brand like a business, which allows me to approach the music industry with a global mindset.

What’s next?
My immediate focus is on expanding my footprint beyond São Paulo and taking my music across the entire country, building a stronger national presence. Looking further ahead, my long-term vision is entirely global. I am structuring my brand and my sound to stand among the most recognized DJs and music producers internationally. The big changes ahead are all about creative evolution. I’m spending more time in the studio, developing new productions, and refining a signature sound that bridges different cultures and audiences. Everything I’m planning right now is about breaking boundaries, and proving that with the right artistic vision, music truly has no borders.
