Community Highlights: Meet King Cesar of StilllThatSameKidFrom LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to King Cesar.

Hi King, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started STSKF LLC — which stands for “Still That Same Kid From” — back in 2020. The whole vision behind the brand was to create something that people from every city, borough, and neighborhood could connect to. Growing up in Queens, New York, I always felt like where you come from becomes a part of your identity, and I wanted to turn that feeling into fashion and culture.

What started as an idea quickly became a movement. I began designing pieces that represented different boroughs, cities, and states while keeping that gritty streetwear feel that reflects real urban culture. I wanted people to be able to wear something that reminded them of home, their upbringing, and the journey that made them who they are. That’s where the name “Still That Same Kid From” really comes from — no matter where life takes you, you never forget where you came from.

In the beginning, everything was hands-on. I was learning branding, marketing, design, printing, and business all at the same time while building the company from the ground up. There were definitely challenges, but consistency, creativity, and support from the community kept pushing the brand forward.

Over time, STSKF grew beyond just hoodies and t-shirts. We expanded into full collections, collaborations, city-inspired designs, pop-up opportunities, and events. One of the biggest things for me has been seeing people proudly wear the brand and genuinely connect with the message behind it.

Today, STSKF LLC continues to grow as both a clothing brand and a lifestyle brand. We’re focused on quality, storytelling, and representing the culture authentically while continuing to put on for Queens and every place that shaped the people supporting the movement.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like a lot of small business owners and independent brands, there were plenty of challenges that came with building STSKF LLC from the ground up. In the beginning, one of the biggest struggles was simply learning everything on my own — from designing and sourcing materials to marketing, printing, shipping, and managing the business side of things. A lot of it was trial and error.

Another challenge was building recognition and getting people to truly understand the vision behind the brand. Streetwear is a very competitive space, so standing out takes consistency, creativity, and patience. There were moments where things moved slower than expected, designs didn’t always come out the way I wanted, or I had to reinvest money back into the business instead of seeing immediate profits.

Balancing life and entrepreneurship was another obstacle. Running a brand isn’t just posting clothes online — it’s long nights, constant planning, customer communication, event networking, and staying motivated even when things get difficult. There were times where I questioned things, but I always believed in the message behind STSKF and what it represents.

At the same time, those struggles helped shape the brand into what it is today. Every setback taught me something about business, discipline, and growth. The support from the community, seeing people connect with the designs, and watching the movement grow made all the hard work worth it. I still look at STSKF as a work in progress, and I’m excited for what’s next.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about StilllThatSameKidFrom LLC?
STSKF LLC is more than just a clothing brand — it’s a lifestyle brand built around identity, culture, and representing where you come from. “Still That Same Kid From” is about staying connected to your roots no matter how much you grow or where life takes you. That message is something people from all different cities and backgrounds have been able to relate to, and that connection is what really drives the brand.

We specialize in urban streetwear and city-inspired apparel, creating pieces that represent boroughs, neighborhoods, and communities that often don’t get represented in mainstream fashion. A lot of our designs are inspired by places like Queens, Brooklyn, Harlem, The Bronx, Staten Island, Long Island, and New York City culture overall. We focus heavily on storytelling through fashion — every piece is meant to represent pride, memories, struggle, success, and the journey people go through growing up where they’re from.

What sets STSKF apart is authenticity. Everything comes from real experiences, real environments, and real culture. We’re not trying to follow trends — we’re creating pieces that people genuinely connect with emotionally. The brand gives people a way to represent home in a fashionable and meaningful way. We also put a lot of effort into quality, detailed graphics, and creating unique concepts that blend streetwear with art and culture.

One thing I’m most proud of is seeing how organically the brand has grown and how people have embraced the movement. Seeing customers wear the designs proudly, support new drops, and connect with the meaning behind the brand means everything to me. I’m also proud that STSKF has become something bigger than clothing — it’s become a community and a statement for people who never forget where they came from.

I want readers to know that STSKF LLC is built with passion, creativity, and consistency. Whether it’s our hoodies, jackets, hats, t-shirts, or future projects, everything we create is meant to inspire confidence, pride, and connection. We’re continuing to grow, expand into new ideas, and represent the culture in our own authentic way while always staying true to the meaning behind the name: Still That Same Kid From.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned throughout this journey is the importance of consistency and believing in your vision, even when things aren’t moving as fast as you want them to. Building a brand from the ground up takes patience, discipline, and confidence in what you’re creating. There were moments where things were difficult, sales were slow, or opportunities didn’t happen right away, but I learned that success doesn’t happen overnight — it’s built over time through persistence and hard work.

I’ve also learned that authenticity matters more than trying to fit in. The reason people connect with STSKF is because the brand comes from a real place and represents real experiences. Staying true to myself, my roots, and the message behind the brand has been one of the biggest keys to growth.

Another major lesson has been understanding that every setback is part of the process. Mistakes, challenges, and obstacles can either discourage you or teach you something valuable. I chose to use those moments as motivation to improve, grow stronger, and keep pushing forward.

Most importantly, I learned that community and support mean everything. Seeing people genuinely support the brand, wear the clothing proudly, and believe in the movement reminds me why I started in the first place. That support continues to inspire me to keep building and take STSKF to the next level.
