Conversations with Tali Cook

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tali Cook.

Hi Tali, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
With well over a million streams since the 2024 release of “In Momentum”, TVLI has built a dedicated following of over 70,000 social media followers drawn to his pensive take on melodic and progressive house. His track “Tempest” became a viral hit with over 13 million plays on instagram resulting in Apple Music editorial support as well as tens of thousands of new followers. Recently discovered by Grammy-nominated artist BT and Christian Burns, TVLI was signed to Tiësto-founded Black Hole Recordings as well as KSS3TE After Dark Recordings. TVLI has since been supported by additional record labels Sandala Experiences, Mise en Place, and More Than a Feeling (Lilly Era sub label) resulting in Amazon Music editorial support. TVLI’s single ‘Nuage’ which he wrote in France during the Summer of 2025 landed over a quarter million Spotify streams in the first two months post release on More Than a Feeling.

Between 2024-2025, TVLI performed his live set with nearly 30 shows across the U.S., Europe, and North Africa, including live sets in Marseille, France and Tangier, Morocco. His 2025 Chicago debut at Sound-Bar included a direct support slot for Anjunadeep artist Rezident.

TVLI’s musical journey began with piano lessons at age five, followed by many years and a few small tours as a guitarist in several rock bands. His transition to electronic music began during a 2015 military deployment, when he started producing tracks on a laptop using Ableton Live as a creative outlet to destress and reset. After his military service, he immersed himself in analog synthesis, crafting a distinct sound characterized by cinematic textures and warm, analog tones. With a growing global fanbase, viral recognition, and a fully self-produced, TVLI is redefining what it means to perform electronic music.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Weirdly enough, the biggest challenge is having such a long backlog of music that I want to put out. I typically have to wait well over a year to release a piece of music once it’s complete. I guess this is a good thing considering it could be worse, feeling pressure to write and release music that isn’t up to my standard just for the sake of releasing music. I have so much I want to share that I am proud of, but also I try not to oversaturate myself.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I just finished 7 years of school at UCSB studying Geohydrology and Water Resource Management earning a Bachelors and a Masters degree.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Not giving up, always saying yes, will continue to open up doors you least expect. More importantly, creating for myself is why I do it. I’m my own #1 fan so whatever luck happens, only happens because I’m going to never give up on myself regardless.
