Today we’d like to introduce you to Tim Guza.
Hi Tim, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I moved to LA in 2005 and had a string of bad employment situations for the first couple years. I never thought too much about owning a business, but working for people who didn’t seem like they knew what they were doing gave me a bit of confidence. I left a printshop job with a co-worker in 2007 to start Sunday Print Co.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a smooth road for periods of time, but I think owning a small business in LA is a struggle in itself at this point. I’ve survived multiple national and local economic collapses, ended a bad relationship with a business partner, and watched employees and clients come and go. I’ve been a solo operation for almost five years now, which has its own challenges, but it seems to work best for me.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Sunday Print Co?
I’m an independent printshop specializing in screenprinted t-shirts and apparel. I’m most proud of being able to help other small businesses and creative individuals by meeting their merch needs.
What were you like growing up?
Pretty standard gen x sob story. Small town weirdo. Didn’t fit in in school. Was drawn to skateboarding and punk rock, which led to an interest in printing and design, which led to dropping out of college several times, which led to working in printshops for most of my adult life.
