Daily Inspiration: Meet Sydney Reed

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydney Reed.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
The best part about my story is that I am still writing it and I’m really falling in love with the process. I come from humble beginnings in Northern California. I enjoyed growing up in the Bay Area and soaking in the culture that is uniquely there. I can remember being very young maybe 4-7 years old and looking at my mom’s magazines and being inspired by the beautiful women on the pages and that inspiration never, ever left me. To this day I’m inspired by imagery that I see all around me. When I became a teenager, I was signed to my first modeling agency and began my career which has carried me for some time now. As time has gone on, I knew I wanted to add to my skillset and increase my visibility, so I started exploring content creation. I’m currently working on a few projects that I think will help me to grow not only as an entrepreneur and businesswoman but as a woman. I feel like I will always be a student of life and I’m enjoying the journey of entrepreneurship.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey for me has absolutely not been a smooth road. I’ve had quite a few bumps, detours and u-turns on my road but I have learned from every single lesson that I have encountered in my career. I’ve been passed up for jobs, I’ve started projects and poured myself into them just to learn it was not a direction that was viable, and much more. As I’ve said before those bumps in the road have never made me want to quit. I have developed resilience throughout my career, and I can’t be more grateful for that.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Currently I am working as a model and content creator. I’m venturing into new business ventures that I’m really excited about. I’m looking forward to meeting new clients that the Los Angeles market can introduce me to. What sets me apart from others is that I have never once given up on myself or my dreams. I’ve had significant setbacks and still I was determined to rise. That characteristic will never leave me and that is what I am most proud of. I’m excited for all that is to come for me and my career.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I think what is surprising that people who know me and my work is that I am really quite shy. Through my work I am able to release any shyness I might have and I transform into another version of myself when I’m in front of a camera or on a runway. I am completely free when I’m in my element. I think that is part of the beauty of my work and I have never lost that.
