Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseph Bunce-Grenon.
Hi Joseph, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m originally from Springfield,Ma. That’s where I was born. Got adopted when I was 5. My mother passed away when I was 11 years of age. I really love basketball. It’s been my favorite sport since I could remember. I’ve always been very athletic growing up and was able to jump really high. When I was 14 years old, I got my first dunk. I became known for dunking at a young age. I was only 5’7 at the time . In 2016 I became a professional dunker and then got on this tv show called dunk king with the top dunkers in the world. After doing that show it opened up many opportunities for me in the entertainment industry. I’m now a basketball entertainer for the World Famous Harlem Wizards. I had a brief stint with the globe trotters. Since being with the Harlem Wizards over the past 8 years I’ve learned a lot and gained a lot of experience in sports and entertainment. As I get older my goal is to gracefully transition into being actor/model to pursue other interests and goals that I have for myself.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One struggle was being in foster care. And my mother passing away when I was 11. Those were some difficult moments in my life
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a basketball entertainer/professional dunker. I specialize in dunking. I also do brand ambassador events. I’m most proud of being able to be myself when everyone is trying to be someone else. I also model and act. I’m very proud of Wendy’s commercial I did for March madness this year and being able to compete against and with the best dunkers in the world. What’s sets me apart from others is my kindness, positive attitude, I’m very charismatic. I’m also like a philosopher in a weird way.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
When I was 10, I won a radio Disney dance contest. I enjoy cooking. I was adopted by two men. I was part of the Converse allstar program. I’m thinking about becoming an R&B singer. Shaq said I look like Usher.
