Hi Debby, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My story is not a straight line—it’s a series of reinventions shaped across countries, cultures, and moments where what I thought I knew stopped working.
Although I am originally from the United States, my entire professional career was built in Brazil.
What began as a transition turned into a 35-year journey immersed in one of the most dynamic and complex business environments in the world. I worked across corporate structures, startup operations, global organizations, non-profits and educational systems—beginning with roles at United Airlines and BAX Global during their Brazilian startup and expansion phases in the early 1990’s.
In those environments, I quickly became known for something very specific.
I wasn’t just executing roles—I was filling the gaps no one had planned for.
Where systems broke, I stabilized them.
Where teams misaligned, I brought coherence.
Where strategy didn’t translate into execution, I optimized operations.
Over time, this became my signature work: stepping into complexity and making it make sense across cultures, industries, and organizational structures.
But internally, I was navigating something else entirely.
I’ve spent my entire life bridging the gap between how I perceive myself and how others perceive me. People saw resilience, structure, and leadership. What they didn’t see were the moments of uncertainty, the internal questioning, or the times I felt completely unprepared despite decades of experience.
Eventually, I realized this wasn’t just my story—it was universal.
Across every client, every team, and every project, I saw the same pattern:
People weren’t lacking talent or effort.
They were operating inside unseen gaps.
Gaps between what they knew and what they needed to do.
Between strategy and execution.
Between potential and measurable results.

Then, at 53, life forced another defining chapter.
I returned to the United States and had to rebuild my life from zero—leaving behind 35 years of career, network, and identity in Brazil. That experience transformed everything I had learned into something deeply personal.
I wasn’t just identifying gaps anymore—I was living them in real time.

If there’s one thing my journey has taught me, it’s this:
People don’t stay stuck because they lack ability.

Now, at the age of 57, I am turbo boosting this bundle of know-how into a Legacy Building workshop series for middle aged women in the sandwich generation who are stuck in the GAP between 2 generations, running on autopilot, unaware and unprepared to create their own IMPACT, FINANCIAL and GENERATIONAL Legacies.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?

I have kept a running tab on all my major #WTF’s in career, personal and community life.
Working around the globe in changing geo-political scenarios, as an American Jewish Woman and now single mother – is nothing more than an ongoing #WTF moment.
Never smooth. Always challenging.
Yet, it’s been the best source of building resilience, tolerance and a compassionate understanding to help others realize that our lives are built: on, with, through and by TABOOS we must overcome. The Gap Taboo—a powerful, overlooked truth NO ONE ELSE IS ADDRESSING.
