Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel Garcia.
Hi Angel, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Early 2010 I knew I wanted to change the direction of where my job/career was going. Barbering wasn’t necessarily what I sought out to get into but on a drive home I passed by a barber school. Out of pure curiosity I decided to check in to see what the school was all about, after speaking with the office managers I decided why not give it a shot, I figured it would be a pretty good thing to learn on the side and that was the end of that. I never thought 16 years later I would still be in the industry much less owning my own shop in my childhood neighborhood and even better yet, winning an award for being the top rated barbershop in North Hollywood in 2025
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Barbering has had its ups and downs. Relationships are built and often times people you meet along the way simply disappear for one reason or another. I do on occasion run into old clients on social media and see they are doing well in other cities and states so that makes me happy. Than there are slow months and of course there are busy times of the year as well, that has taught me to roll with the punches but nothing could have prepared me for the time when it came to open my first barbershop, thanks to the support of my wife, I have been able to move forward with all the struggles that come along with opening a business but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Smooth road or not, it is my job to pave it to my liking.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’ve been a professional barber for over 15 years, specializing in precision haircuts, clean fades, and classic barbering. I’m known for consistency, attention to detail, and taking the time to understand each client’s style and needs as well as getting to know each client on a personal level. What sets my business apart is the quality of both the work and the experience. I focus on craftsmanship, professionalism, and building long-term relationships with my clients. Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the reputation and trust I’ve built over the years. My goal is simple: deliver reliable, high-quality service that helps people look and feel their best.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5–10 years, the barbering industry will continue to shift toward premium, experience-driven services rather than high-volume cuts. Clients are willing to pay more for consistency, personalization, and professionalism. Technology will play a bigger role through online booking, branding, and social media, while education and specialization will become key differentiators. Shops and barbers who focus on quality, strong branding, and client relationships will stand out and succeed.
