We’re looking forward to introducing you to Julie Margi. Check out our conversation below.
Julie, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Absolutely! Because after 18 years in the beauty industry, I genuinely care. I don’t just want you to look beautiful, I want you to feel like yourself at your absolute best. Everything is done with intention, heart, and a genuine desire to make you confident in choosing me. I care about you, your experience, and the confidence you carry when you walk out the door. That’s what makes my work different.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Julie Rae Margi, a licensed esthetician and makeup artist with 18 years of experience helping people look and show up as their most confident selves.
I combine precision, artistry, and to create looks that reflect both inner and outer confidence.
Whether I’m on-site for a wedding or in-studio doing facials and waxing, I believe the way you look directly affects how you carry yourself. When you feel your best, you step into moments differently; with more presence and self assurance. Being part of people’s most special memories as they’re being created is deeply meaningful to me. I pour my heart into every detail because I know those moments last a lifetime.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
My dad, Raymond. He came to the United States from Lebanon during a civil war and built a life from the ground up. Watching him run his own business that my grandpa started, Margi Brothers Watch and Clock Repair, he taught me the true meaning of perseverance and pride in your craft. He always told me, “Be honest, be on time, do a good job, and be nice to people.” Those words shaped how I approach both life and business. His example showed me that success isn’t just about skill, it’s about character, consistency, and kindness.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
That neither one is permanent.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
At the core of everything I do? It’s driven by integrity and faith; believing there’s a higher purpose behind every opportunity and challenge. I lead with honesty, compassion, and I’ve learned that being transparent builds real trust. I care deeply about people and about doing things the right way, even when no one is watching. Those values have shaped not only how I run my business but how I conduct my life as a whole.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
I sort of did once! I briefly stepped away to work for a mortuary, and I came back; my clients told me they didn’t just miss the work, but that they missed me too. They missed the laughter, the comfort, and the easy camaraderie that comes from years of trust and genuine connection. My clients know I care about them far beyond the appointment, and that bond is what makes my work so special.
