Hi David, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Green Renovation Group has been part of my life long before I took on the role of CEO. My family founded the company in 1981, and I essentially grew up on job sites, watching my father build homes with a mix of old-school craftsmanship and a deep respect for clients. When the time came for me to step in, it wasn’t about changing the company. It was about taking what my family built and elevating it.

Over the years, I focused on modernizing our process, integrating design and construction under one roof, and expanding our service areas across Los Angeles. What stayed the same is our philosophy. We treat every homeowner like family. We communicate honestly, we respect timelines, and we never compromise on quality.

Today, more than four decades after the company began, I’m proud that we’ve grown without losing our identity. We’re still the same family-run business, just with a broader team, more advanced capabilities, and a stronger commitment than ever to delivering homes that truly stand the test of time.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road, and honestly, I think that’s true for any company that’s been around since 1981. Construction is a demanding industry. You deal with economic cycles, material shortages, city permitting delays, labor challenges, and the constant pressure to maintain quality while staying on schedule.

One of the biggest challenges for us was scaling without losing the personal touch my family built the company on. As demand grew, we had to expand our team, tighten our project management systems, and integrate design services in-house. That took years of refining how we operate.

Another ongoing challenge is navigating city regulations. Los Angeles is one of the toughest places in the country for permitting. You need experience, patience, and a solid team to keep the process moving. We learned to embrace that complexity rather than fight it.

But every challenge pushed us to improve. We implemented better coordination, clearer communication, and stronger quality control. What kept us steady through all of it was our core value: do things the right way, even when it’s harder. That mentality has kept the road bumpy at times, but it’s also kept us strong.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
People are often surprised to learn that even after all these years, I still walk job sites almost every day. Most assume that once you become CEO you stay behind a desk, but that’s never been my style. I like being hands on, talking to the crews, checking the details, and making sure the quality is exactly where it should be.

Another thing people don’t expect is that I personally review almost every major design proposal before it’s presented to a client. Even with a full in-house design studio, I stay involved because the home is such a personal space and I want every project to reflect the level of care our family built this company on.

So the surprising part is simple. I run the company, but I still love the craft. I never stepped away from the work that got us here in the first place.
