Meet Anthony Defalco of Anthony’s salon / A D Profesdional inc

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Defalco.

Hi Anthony, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I knew from the time that I was in sixth grade that I wanted to go into the beauty industry watching a nighttime soap opera saw Glamourous beautiful starlet coming down the stairs with a glowing blonde hairdo and proportions that could only be described as gravity defying and I knew right away this is exactly what I wanna do. So I went ahead and enrolled in beauty college at 16 years old and by 17 I was already working in a salon fast-forward to several years later I decided that it was time to open up my own Salon so in 2019 I decided to take the plunge and build out a salon little did. I know that just a few months later, we’d be plunged in a pandemic and shut down while we were shut down. A friend of mine called me and said my Salon‘s gonna close we haven’t found anybody to buy it and the lady is just gonna let it go so I met with her and within 20 minutes I had bought myself two salons that were out of business. The current location at one 0525 Ellis Ave. in Fountain Valley is our flagship store and it’s a 3000 ft.² we do hair skin nails, skin revision, a hair replacement extensions as well as selling a larger assortment of beauty supplies and then of course my flagship product Anthony Defalco professional, which is sold worldwide Also available at anthonydefalco.com so we had everybody from the old salon that decided they were willing to move into the new salon which was much bigger. The original salon was less than 1000 ft.² and we had grown from nine stylist to 15 stylist and shortly less than six months and now we’re up to 22 stylist three skin care specialist a manicurist And one hair replacement artist inside of our current location and everybody gets along really well. We have a great time and the salon that I ended up purchasing from the lady that was closing it down has been in business since 1982 so there was plenty of history already we’ve gone through two grand openings a lot of different special events and Chamber of Commerce events as well so I’ll do a good job and I’m navigating my way through social media and learning how to work with AI to help promote the product line and I still work behind the chair six days a week Tuesday through Saturday

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I opened up our previous location, I remember thinking if I can just get one more stylist I’d be able to afford to pay the receptionist and have all the money for the rent and little did I know that a few months later we’d be joined by additional stylist from a close salon at the referral of a good friend And things kept growing from there, and there were stumbling blocks along the way like pandemic, keeping us closed down for several months very very challenging, but I was lucky enough to do an interview with the channel 7 news on a Friday night and tell them about my at home hair color kits and people started calling the phone started ringing and we were able to keep the place open and afloat

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Our business is founded on the belief that beauty begins here at Anthony’s Salon in Orange County. One of the things that were most proud of us about is welcoming everybody from every walk of life and every age group we’ve got everybody from youngsters all the way up to grandma’s and no work is too specialized everything from a classic bob to a pink mohawk is exactly in our wheelhouse Other things that make us so special is that we have our own product line and it’s designed by a stylist for stylist. I created the line during pandemic. I had some extra time so I took an online cosmetic chemistry course to learn how to formulate, and then, after that, it was just up to finding a factory that would help me produce all the amazing ideas that I’ve had. Finally found one that was willing to work with me and help me with the formulas that I created, and now our products are internationally sold, and they work well one of the other tenants of our success I believe is providing a high-end quality service and finished look at prices that are mid range to affordable. We also do several services here that not many people do two Paz toppers extensions wigs everything from we spoke to off the rack. We do it all so we really are one stop shop. You can come in and get your nails done. Get your skin revision done get hair replacement done get hair color And be ready to go on your way to whatever life has waiting for you next

What matters most to you?
The thing that matters to me most is that everybody is treated the same with respect and made to feel beautiful people won’t always remember who we are or what we did, but I know that for a fact, people will always remember how you made them feel and we want to make them feel like $1 million by the time they leave
