In the early days, we faced every startup challenge imaginable — limited resources, technical hurdles, and convincing people to adopt new technology. It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road — and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Every challenge taught us something vital.
In the early days of Hilo Technologies, one of the biggest struggles was building trust. We were introducing a product that most people didn’t realize they needed until they saw the problem — water overflow, equipment damage, and unnecessary wastage — firsthand. Convincing households, farmers, and industries to invest in smart automation took patience and persistence.
Another major challenge was balancing innovation with affordability. We wanted to deliver advanced technology — real-time monitoring, IoT integration, automation — but still keep it accessible to everyone, not just large industries. Finding that balance between performance and cost pushed us to innovate smarter, not just faster.
