Life & Work with Rimma Chamova of Newport Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rimma Chamova.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey into aesthetics and wellness began from a very personal place. Growing up in Ukraine, I struggled not only with my complexion but also with my weight. Those experiences deeply shaped how I saw beauty—not as perfection, but as balance, confidence, and self-love. My challenges inspired me to learn everything I could about skincare and wellness so I could help others feel comfortable in their own skin, too.

Over twenty years ago, I began my career as an aesthetician in Ukraine and quickly became fascinated by the artistry and science of facial aesthetics. When I discovered how treatments like neurotoxins and fillers could enhance natural beauty and restore confidence, I knew I had found my calling.

After moving to California, I continued to grow both personally and professionally. I completed private medical training, graduated with high honors, and became a licensed Registered Nurse—allowing me to bring medical precision and safety to my aesthetic work.

As founder of Primma MedSpa, I built a practice where beauty, care, and confidence come together. When GLP-1 therapies like Semaglutide and Tirzepatide became more accessible, they struck a personal chord with me because I understood firsthand how difficult the weight-loss journey can be. I wanted to help others who were going through what I once did. These therapies quickly became our most requested treatments—changing lives, including my own.

But we soon discovered a limitation: our MedSpa could only serve clients who lived within driving distance. People from all over the country were reaching out, asking for help. That’s how Primma Wellness was born—a platform that allows us to extend care beyond California. Through our LegitScript-certified providers, clients can now safely receive GLP-1 medications and wellness therapies delivered directly to their door, without needing an in-office visit.

Today, Primma Wellness offers not only medical weight-loss support, but also therapies that enhance overall vitality—such as NAD+, Glutathione, and Sermorelin. These nutrients support cellular repair, immune strength, energy production, clearer skin, improved muscle tone, sharper focus, and antioxidant protection. Together, they help people look better, feel stronger, and live more vibrantly.

For me, it’s not just about aesthetics—it’s about empowerment. Helping someone feel beautiful, healthy, and confident changes how they see themselves and how they show up in the world. My mission, both with Primma MedSpa and Primma Wellness, is to inspire that transformation in as many people as I can.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not always been smooth—but every challenge has shaped me into the person and professional I am today. When I first came to the United States, I had to start completely over. I left behind years of experience and recognition as an aesthetician in Ukraine and had to rebuild everything from the beginning—my education, my credentials, and my confidence. Learning the medical system, studying in a new language, and balancing work and family was difficult, but I knew that perseverance was the only way forward.

Even after becoming a licensed Registered Nurse and opening Primma MedSpa, I continued to face personal and professional challenges. English is not my first language, and although I’m fluent, I have an accent. For a long time, that made me self-conscious. I worried people might judge my voice instead of hearing my message. Over time, I’ve learned to embrace it—it’s a part of who I am and a reminder of how far I’ve come.

Another challenge has been that I’m not a “sales” person at heart. My goal has never been to convince someone to do a treatment—it’s to guide them honestly, based on what will truly help them feel their best. I care deeply about every person who walks through our doors or reaches out online. Building trust takes time, but it’s the foundation of everything I do.

When we expanded into Primma Wellness, there were new challenges—learning how to partner responsibly with certified telehealth providers, ensuring client safety, and creating a supportive environment where people across the country could access care they might not have locally. Through it all, I’ve been guided by one simple truth: real beauty and wellness come from compassion, integrity, and genuine human connection.

Looking back, every obstacle—from language barriers to self-doubt—has become a source of strength. They remind me that authenticity and kindness can take you much further than perfection ever will.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Primma MedSpa, my focus has always been on natural, refined results that highlight a person’s best features rather than changing them. I specialize in aesthetic injectables—treatments like neurotoxins, dermal fillers, and skin rejuvenation procedures that restore balance and enhance each client’s unique beauty. My goal is for people to look refreshed and confident, never overdone. Clients often tell me that my approach feels more like an art form than a medical service—and that’s exactly how I see it.

What sets my work apart is the time and care I dedicate to truly understanding each individual. I don’t rush treatments or follow trends; instead, I take a customized, European-influenced approach that considers facial structure, skin health, and personal goals. Every treatment plan is different because every person is different.

Beyond aesthetics, I’m also deeply passionate about wellness from within. Through Primma Wellness, we’re able to help people feel better, not just look better. Many of our clients come to us after struggling with weight, fatigue, or hormonal imbalance—challenges I personally understand. By connecting them with LegitScript-certified providers who offer GLP-1 therapies and other rejuvenating treatments like NAD+, Glutathione, and Sermorelin, we help them regain not only their health, but their energy, confidence, and joy in daily life.

What I’m most proud of isn’t just the transformations I see on the outside—it’s the emotional ones. When someone tells me they finally feel comfortable taking pictures again, or they have energy to play with their kids, or they’ve learned to love their reflection—that’s when I know I’ve done something meaningful.

At its heart, my work is about connection. I want every client to feel seen, cared for, and understood. I believe the combination of honesty, compassion, and artistry is what truly sets Primma apart.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
If I had to choose one quality that has guided my success, it would be genuine empathy. Everything I do begins with truly caring about the person in front of me—their story, their insecurities, and their goals. I know what it feels like to struggle with confidence, so I approach every client with the same compassion I would want for myself.

Empathy allows me to listen more deeply, to see beyond what someone says they want, and to understand what they really need to feel beautiful and whole. It’s not about selling treatments; it’s about guiding people honestly, sometimes even telling them “less is more.” That honesty builds trust, and trust is everything in this field.

I also believe persistence and humility play a big role. I’ve never stopped learning—from advanced aesthetic techniques to wellness innovations—and I approach each new challenge with an open mind. There’s always more to learn, more ways to grow, and more people to help.

Most of all, I think success comes from staying true to yourself. My accent, my background, my journey—they’re all part of who I am. Instead of seeing them as limitations, I now see them as strengths that allow me to connect with people in an authentic and human way.

At the end of the day, success for me isn’t measured by how many treatments we do—it’s measured by how many lives we touch with kindness, honesty, and care.
