Today we’d like to introduce you to Callie Cleaves.
Hi Callie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi, I’m Callie Cleaves — a Psychic Medium, Reiki Master Healer, and Certified Breathwork Instructor.
Looking back, nothing about my path was conventional — but every turn taught me how to trust it. I’ve always been a dreamer, an explorer, and a bit of an outlier — the kind of person who doesn’t quite fit into one lane. Turns out, that was the point. Every twist was quietly preparing me for the work I do today.
Energetically, I’ve always felt a little different — sensitive, attuned, and aware of things just beyond the obvious. Being adopted and part Indonesian, that sense of “different” showed up early. My sister and I didn’t exactly blend in next to our parents, and I think that early awareness of contrast made me curious about energy, belonging, and what it really means to feel connected. The past few decades have been their own form of practice — a blend of life lessons and inner work that tested my intuition until my most grounded confidence finally showed up.
If you ask my friends and family, they’ll tell you I’ve lived many lives inside this one. As eclectic as my journey has been, each chapter taught me something about human energy — how people connect, how emotion moves, and how intuition speaks when we slow down enough to listen.
Underneath it all, there was always a quieter pull — a remembering. I was trained in meditation at fourteen, drawn to energy work long before I had the language for it. Over the years, I spent time in silent retreats, traveled abroad, and kept following that inner knowing. Along the way, I also embarked on my own healing journey, realizing that to truly support others, I had to keep healing and growing myself.
My psychic abilities came first. Once that door opened, it felt like a flood — insights, messages, and energy moving through me for those who needed it most. Over time, I refined those gifts through Reiki, Breathwork, intuitive development, and mediumship. What began as my own healing evolved into a practice devoted to helping others return to theirs.
That practice became Cahaya — which means “light” in Indonesian. Through Cahaya, I help people reconnect with their energy, regulate their nervous systems, and remember their wholeness. My work is about bridging the seen and unseen, helping others trust what they feel, and creating space where energy and awareness can move freely.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not! But I’ve learned to cherish the struggles — not that I’m calling in more, but I can respect the balance they bring. You can’t feel the ease without the hard, the light without the dark, or the high without the low. How else would we even know what joy feels like if everything stayed neutral?
Being adopted, I think I learned early on what it means to stand in between worlds — to belong everywhere and nowhere at once. That experience shaped how I see energy, people, and emotion. The hardest struggle, though, came from within. For years, I’d experience something undeniably magical — a sign, a message, a knowing — and then instantly talk myself out of it. I kept my gifts quiet, convinced it was safer to hide than to be misunderstood. Looking back, doubting my own light was the biggest obstacle of all.
Self-worth has probably been my loudest teacher. I’d ask myself: Who am I to share this? Who would even care? But once I stopped trying to prove and started simply showing up, everything shifted. The people who found me left sessions in tears, laughing, glowing — saying they felt lighter, clearer, more connected. That’s when I realized: it was never about me. I’m just the vessel.
Even now, it takes intention to make space for this work — something so intangible, often misunderstood, and easy to dismiss. But every time I honor it, the universe meets me halfway. The proof is in the energy that moves through the room, the synchronicities that unfold, and the healing that happens when I stop overthinking and just let it flow.
Every challenge has guided me closer to alignment. I’ve learned that balance doesn’t mean everything is calm — it means being grounded enough to move through the chaos with grace.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Cahaya means “light” in Indonesian — a word that’s always felt like home to me. The name honors both my heritage and the essence of this work: helping people remember their own light.
Cahaya grew out of my own healing journey — the desire to make spiritual work feel grounded, beautiful, and accessible for real life. I connect with people’s loved ones through Medium Readings, and offer Reiki healing, Psychic Readings, and Breathwork sessions. I also teach multi-week trainings and classes designed to help people reconnect with their energy, intuition, and sense of emotional balance.
I believe there’s a healing modality out there for everyone — it’s never one-size-fits-all. My goal is simply to create a safe space for people to experience something real, whether they come in deeply open or a little skeptical. If someone can relax, breathe, and hear an aligned message, you never know what could shift — sometimes even the smallest spark can change a life for the better.
What sets Cahaya apart is the feeling behind it. My background in production and storytelling taught me how to shape energy in a space — to understand flow, detail, lighting, and mood. I bring that same intention into my healing work. Every session, ceremony, and retreat is thoughtfully curated to engage all the senses — from sound and scent to setting and symbolism — so that people feel safe, seen, and expanded.
What I’m most proud of is that Cahaya has become a space where people remember what peace feels like — not as a concept, but as something embodied. It’s a place where spirituality doesn’t need to be performative or “out there.” It’s human, approachable, and real.
Right now, I offer private one-on-one sessions over Zoom, so you can be in the comfort of your own home — and believe me, you’ll be amazed by how powerful the results can be. Energy is energy — we can be miles apart and still tap in just the same. I also offer in-person sessions for those local to Los Angeles; you can simply email to set up a booking. Whether you’re looking to connect with a past loved one, receive psychic messages, or relax and let Reiki do its work, I truly have something for just about anyone.
At its core, Cahaya isn’t about me — it’s about helping others trust themselves, reconnect with their intuition, and remember that their healing power has been within them all along.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Trust your timing. There’s no rush to become who you’re meant to be — you’re already on the path just by saying yes to it. When I was first starting out, I spent so much time wondering if I was ready, qualified, or “far enough along.” I wish I knew then that readiness isn’t a destination — it’s a decision. The confidence comes after you start, not before.
If you’re stepping into healing work, creativity, or any kind of service — remember that the work starts with you. The more you tend to your own energy, the clearer your intuition becomes. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about being present.
And don’t underestimate the power of humility and curiosity. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to keep listening — to yourself, to the people around you, and to the subtle ways the universe nudges you forward.
Finally, try not to take yourself too seriously. The path of healing, intuition, and energy can be profound, but it’s also full of joy, humor, and humanity. You can be grounded and mystical, skeptical and spiritual — all at once.
