An Inspired Chat with Sin Quirin of Los Angeles

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Sin Quirin. Check out our conversation below.

Sin, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Writing music always makes me lose track of time. When I sit to write and record a new song idea (usually at the end of the day) I seem to forget everything else. It’s as if the world disappears and before I know it 4-5 hours have passed by. And to me I feel as if I just sat down.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Sin Quirin. I’ve been playing the guitar since I was 10 years old and have been lucky enough to have had my musical dreams come true. I truly believe that music was in my blood. My Dad was a singer in a band in Mexico in the 60’s and had released an album with a hit single. His career was short lived because of issues with his band members getting involved with drugs and alcohol. Shortly after that my parents moved to Los Angeles and I was born.
Even at the early ages of 3/4 years old I felt a certain something whenever I heard music and at the age of 6 when I was introduced to KISS Alive! my life and world changed. That was it for me. I knew what I wanted to do with my life.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
My parents definitely taught me the most about work. At a very early age they showed me by example the importance of honest work, responsibility and having pride in what you do. A strong work ethic is something I am grateful they showed me.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
The thought of giving up is something that crossed my mind many times throughout my life. Self doubt, odds being against you, peoples jealousy and negativity towards you are always struggles that make you feel like giving up. There are things that happen in your life that will shake you to your core. But those are the times when one shows what we’re made of. It’s how we pick ourselves up and dust ourselves off and continue to move forward that shows what we’re made of.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire people that are kind and that treat people with respect. Power means nothing to me. How people treat others is something I admire and notice right away.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people know and remember that my heart was always in the right place. I always tried to show by example. Kindness, sincerity and respect. Remaining grounded and being humble and showing appreciation.
