Hi Jeanette, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My grooming journey began when I attended a professional pet grooming school. I wanted to learn the right way in technique and safety to understanding each breed’s needs. That experience gave me the foundation to start a real career doing something I loved.

After earning my certification, I worked at a veterinary hospital, where I gained hands on experience grooming dogs in a medical setting. It taught me a lot about animal behavior, handling nervous or senior pets, and recognizing when something didn’t look quite right health wise. Working alongside veterinarians gave me a deeper respect for the level of care pets deserve.

Over time, I realized I wanted to create a space that combined professional grooming standards with a calm, gentle, and spa like environment. That’s how Barking Bubbles Spa was born. I started small, focused on quality over quantity, and built my clientele through trust and word of mouth.

Today, Barking Bubbles Spa has grown into a full service grooming business built on compassion, skill, and consistency. Every pet that walks through our doors is treated like family, one of my own. My goal has always been simple, to provide safe, luxurious grooming that leaves each dog feeling relaxed, clean, and loved.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been smooth. A more than 4 years ago, at our previous location, the top floor above our shop caved in because of a major water leak from the tenants upstairs. Overnight, we had to shut down for safety reasons. What I thought would be a short closure ended up lasting much longer, it took months just to deal with the damages, and over a year before we could find a new space and rebuild everything to our standards.

That time was extremely difficult. I had spent years building Barking Bubbles from the ground up, and suddenly everything was on pause. But I wasn’t willing to rush into just any location. I wanted a space that truly reflected the calm, professional, and high quality luxurious experience my clients had come to expect.

During that time, I received so much support from loyal clients who reached out, checked in, and told me they’d be waiting for me to reopen. That encouragement is what kept me going. Eventually, I found the perfect space in Diamond Bar, and it gave me the chance to start completely fresh. A new setup, new design, and an even better experience for both pets and owners. It took patience, hard work, and a lot of faith, but looking back, it was worth every bit of it. Barking Bubbles Spa came back stronger and more grounded than ever.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Barking Bubbles Spa, we focus on giving every dog a calm, gentle, and personalized grooming experience. We’re not a high volume shop and because of that I take my time with each pet so they never feel rushed or anxious. From start to finish, my goal is to make grooming feel like a spa day that’s both comfortable and stress free.

We specialize in breed standard haircuts, all natural spa treatments, deshedding, skin and coat care, and puppy grooming. I’m proud to work with dogs of all personalities and needs. Some come in excited, others nervous or shy, each one deserves the same patience, kindness, and care.

What sets us apart is the environment. Barking Bubbles was designed to be quiet, clean, and peaceful, no chaos, no crowding. We hand dry every dog, use high quality natural products, and pay attention to the small details that make a big difference.

What I’m most proud of is the trust we’ve built over the years. Many of my clients have been with me since the beginning, and I’ve watched their pets grow from puppies into seniors. That loyalty means the world to me and reminds me why I started this in the first place.

Barking Bubbles Spa isn’t just a business, it’s my passion. Every pet that comes through our doors is treated like family, and I’m grateful every day to be doing what I love.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Barking Bubbles Spa truly is a family effort. My husband and kids have been by my side every step of the way, and I wouldn’t be where I am without them. From the very beginning, they’ve pitched in whenever they could by helping move equipment, deep cleaning the shop, fixing things, running errands, and keeping everything organized behind the scenes.

When we were rebuilding after the ceiling collapse at our old location, my family was the reason I kept going. They spent weekends helping me sort through supplies, look for a new space, and plan what the next version of Barking Bubbles would look like. Even when things were uncertain, they kept reminding me why I started. Because I love what I do and believe in the kind of care we give to every dog that walks through our doors.

My husband still helps me with the physical side of things whenever he’s free, and my kids have taken on bigger roles as the business has grown. They help manage the operations, marketing, scheduling and all the behind the scenes parts that people don’t always see but are so important to keeping things running smoothly.

I’m proud that Barking Bubbles Spa isn’t just my business, it’s something we’ve built together as a by family. Every part of it, from the way we treat clients to how we take care of the dogs comes from that same foundation of love, teamwork, and pride in what we do.
