We’re looking forward to introducing you to Ashkhen Minasyan. Check out our conversation below.
Ashkhen, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about your customers?
How deeply flowers speak for people. Many of my clients are women leaders who order not just for beauty, but to celebrate teams, comfort friends, or mark wins. They value punctuality, privacy, and thoughtful design more than perfection. A bouquet isn’t décor—it’s a message, and our job at AY Flowers is to translate it clearly.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Ashkhen, and my story with flowers started as a personal passion. I created AY Flowers 7 years ago, and since then it has become my second home — a place where art, dreams, and business meet. Every day we create new designs, never repeating the same arrangement, because I believe each client deserves something truly personal. We’ve had the honor to work with well-known names, but what matters most to me is building trust and protecting our clients’ privacy. Today, AY Flowers is more than just a shop — it’s a journey of resilience, creativity, and love.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that shaped me the most is the one I’ve built with my clients. Many of them trust me not only with flowers but also with very personal moments of their lives. Knowing that someone counts on me to add beauty to their most important days has shaped me into a more responsible, attentive, and empathetic person.
When did you last change your mind about something important?
Yes. As a woman running a business, there were moments of doubt and exhaustion. But each challenge reminded me why I started: to create beauty and to prove that passion can become a thriving company. Every time I thought of giving up, I focused on the customers who trusted me and it helped me move forward.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
The cultural value I protect at all costs is trust. In my work with AY Flowers, we often create designs for very personal moments — weddings, milestones, even private celebrations for high-profile clients. Protecting confidentiality is non-negotiable for me: no photos are shared, no addresses or phone numbers are disclosed without permission. I believe that beauty and artistry mean little without integrity. For my team and me, flowers are not just about design, but about building a circle of trust between the director, the employees, and the clients. That trust is the foundation that allows our creativity to truly blossom.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What will you regret not doing?
I will regret not expanding AY Flowers to its full potential. For me, flowers are more than a business — they are a way of telling stories through beauty. If I don’t give everything I can to grow this vision, I would always wonder ‘what if.
