Hidden Gems: Meet Avo Sogomonyan of Avo’s Towing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Avo Sogomonyan.

Hi Avo, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey into the tow truck business started with a simple idea and a strong work ethic. I’ve always been handy with vehicles and spent years working in automotive repair, but I noticed a gap in reliable, fast-response towing services in my area. With just one truck and a lot of determination, I decided to take the leap and start my own towing company. It wasn’t easy at first—long nights, unpredictable calls, and learning the ropes of running a business—but I stuck with it. Over time, word spread, and what started as a one-man operation grew into a trusted local service known for getting the job done right. Looking back, I’m proud of how far it’s come and excited for what’s ahead.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting a towing business came with its fair share of struggles. From finding consistent work and dealing with tough competition to handling expensive truck repairs and rising fuel costs, every day brought a new challenge. Long hours, spending time away from my family, bad weather, and stressful situations with customers tested my patience, but I kept pushing forward to build something solid.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Avo’s Towing ?
I specialize in towing exotic and high-end cars, especially low-profile vehicles that require extra care and precision. These types of cars can’t be handled like regular vehicles — they need the right equipment and a careful approach to avoid any damage. I’ve invested in the proper tools and training to make sure every car, whether it’s a Lamborghini, McLaren, or classic showpiece, is treated with the highest level of care. Clients trust me because I understand the value of what I’m towing and take pride in doing the job right.

How do you think about luck?
People love to throw around the word “luck” when they see success. But let me be clear: what I’ve built didn’t come from luck. It came from long hours, countless sacrifices, and relentless dedication. It came from showing up when it was hard. From pushing through doubt. From doing the work when no one was watching, and sticking with it when most would have quit. Success didn’t just “happen” to me. I created it.
