Today we’d like to introduce you to Aimee White.
Hi Aimee, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started I Dog Too after running into my own challenges as a bride looking for dedicated wedding day pet care. My husband and I were excited to have our two dogs by our side during our ceremony until we started considering some of the basic logistics. How would our dogs get to and from our venue? (This was especially tricky as there were strict restrictions on how long they could be on-site at our venue.) What if they jumped on my wedding dress with dirty paws? Or our guests? And who would be on potty clean-up duties? The last thing we wanted was to take a friend or family member away from celebrating our wedding with us.
While we did end up finding someone for our own day, the experience made me realize how much more was needed beyond traditional pet sitting. Weddings are such unique events and an environment most (if not all) dogs have never been in before.
Before launching I Dog Too, I had already spent years dog sitting, while also working plenty of events throughout my corporate career. That combination gave me a unique perspective: understanding the unpredictability of pets, especially in new environments, and the behind-the-scenes workings of events. When I saw how few options existed for dedicated wedding day pet care that went beyond the basics, it became clear there was a gap in the market…and hence, I Dog Too was born.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The initial journey wasn’t easy, and the biggest challenge was landing my first client. My husband and I had just moved to LA from Washington, D.C., and we didn’t have a network here. After spending time establishing a brand and creating my own marketing materials, I spent weeks reaching out to planners and visiting venues to slowly build connections within the industry. I also invested in a booth at a large wedding expo where I met other vendors and future clients, which helped get my business out there. When moments of doubt crept in, I chose to hold onto my vision and kept pushing forward…persistence became my greatest tool. Things started to shift for me once I earned the trust of my first few clients, and venues and vendors were able to experience firsthand the true value of this service that is so much more than traditional pet sitting. Looking back, I’m grateful I persevered because I am always so honored to play even a small part in making a couple’s day that little bit extra special.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

One of our favorite touches? Presenting a Pawtificate of Marriage sealed with a paw print from your pet to you!
What makes you happy?
A few of my favorite things about this job:
1. The tail wag and pure excitement when a dog sees their parents on their wedding day for the first time.
2. Guests lighting up when they see the couple’s dog rsvp’d to the wedding, and then showering them with love and attention.
3. Personal detail touches featuring the couple’s dog, from cocktail napkins and cake toppers to signature drinks.
4. The joy on couple’s faces when they see their ‘Pawtificate of Marriage’ sealed with a paw print from their pup.
5. Seeing bridesmaids use their bouquets to frame a dog’s face, it’s makes for the most adorable photo!
