Meet Linda Mccollum of Mama Linda long handle spoon my

Today we’d like to introduce you to Linda Mccollum.

Hi Linda, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
It started off with me having 5 children being on welfare food stamps and section 8 trying to feed them.
And keeping a roof over our head, the story is very long so I won’t go all into that right now, i started off as becoming a certified chef. Because my husband now, when I met him I was taking care of injured police officers and he told me that I can’t do that for the rest of my life lifting and so he kept on pushing me to go to school. I am not a great student. So I was scared, i did push through although I have dyslexia i did push through, i love cooking for the senior citizens and the homeless and also under serve children, I had a friend that helped me. Do the process to get my own nonprofit And that’s how I came up with mama Linda long handle spoon so I can serve the community. Me and my husband we put in all the money to buy food.
But my husband said I’m gonna take us to the poor house. By doing that I do all I can. I do not know how to write grants to get more money to do it. But I do what I can when I can. This is just a highlight of my story, but just to let you in on my struggles and how I got to where I am today..

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it has not been a smooth world. It’s been a struggle all the way because I am not smart enough to do the things that’s needed to be done and I don’t know how to go by doing it.It’s really hard to find help to continue on but I do what I can do.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My organization helps the homeless and the senior citizens and the children in the inner city. Healthy meals for the children in the inner cities.I’d like to give them Mills on Saturdays and Sundays.Due to them not eating on the weekends they wait to get to school to eat in most cases, i was able to do more of this when I first got started because we were using our own cache but that kind of slow down because I don’t have any grants and I don’t know how to write grants, i also.
Prepared meals for the senior citizens using less salt.Things that would harm them or work against their medication, to tell you the truth, the homeless is the easiest to feed because I can prepare chicken rice and beans which is very cost-effective and they really appreciate anything. I also pass out shoes and socks to the homeless, i am known for being a very caring person.I can’t help it.It’s in my d n a, i’m not gonna say that there’s anything that’s said to me.Apart from anyone else that love helping people only thing that I could say is I don’t cater to just one group.I cater to all, i think I’m the most proudest when I am delivering Christmas packages to the kids in the head. Start school that I pick to give them Christmas presents and to see the smiles on their faces and to see the teachers so excited for them. Because they know that that’s might be the only thing they’ll ever get this help from one of my friends. Her and her friends get together to give me these gifts., i would love your readers to see my passion and to Linda.Helping hand if they are as passionate as I am, i am better at speaking than I am writing.Sorry about that.I am not the best writer and I am not the best speller so please look over my mishaps.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
My qualities and characteristics is simple.I am just me all the time.I don’t know anyone else to be like other than myself like I’ve said before.I didn’t have a lot of booksmarts, but I do have people smart. I could feel a person’s pain. I feel it in my soul. So I feel that this is what makes me successful in whatever I do because i’ve been there and I feel for a lot of the people who i’m helping.
