Conversations with Lilith Victoria

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lilith Victoria.

Hi Lilith, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve been drawing since I was a child. I started drawing anime characters when I was in high school. When I got into college I got my first I-pad and have been using Ibis-Paint to recreate sketches I would make in my sketchbook. I would post my art on Facebook, Instagram, DeviantArt and Pixiv. But then after awhile I would just post on Facebook and Instagram because I figured it was easier and would burn me out less. Drawing has always been the best way to bring my thoughts and feelings out of my mind and posting them is truly the best way I can share those thoughts and feelings.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My biggest obstacles are learning the new skills that help me become better as an artist. It usually takes me a very long time before I learn how to use a new tool on my program. Even getting used to a new idea takes me awhile. But I eventually do go through with it after sitting with that idea for awhile. And sometimes it takes me a little bit of patience and guidance as well. Which is sometimes hard for me to ask for as I don’t want to bother others with my troubles. So I usually struggle by myself and figure things out by myself. But when I do get that help, it is very much appreciated.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a freelance digital artist that specializes in Anime/Kawaii art style. I don’t think there’s a lot that separates me from others in what I do. But the fact that I have managed to make it this far at 150+ followers on Instagram is definitely the thing I am most proud of. To most influencers online, that’s not even scratching the surface. But for me that’s still a lot of people. Imagine having over 150 people in one room. To me that IS a big deal. And I’m grateful for each and every person that actually likes what I do and looks forward to a new piece that I make.

What matters most to you?
There’s a lot of things that matter to me. Family, opportunities, laughter, love… But I feel like Art is the biggest thing that matters most of all. I feel absolutely naked if I don’t have a sketchbook and pencils. If someone was to ask me what I would bring with me on a deserted island, I would say sketchbook, pencil and eraser in a heartbeat.
