Meet John Monteleone of John Monteleone Fitness

Today we’d like to introduce you to John Monteleone.

Hi John, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey in fitness began with a personal passion for health and athletics from a young age. I played football from the age of six to my sophomore year in college. In order to compete on the gridiron, it was imperative to improve your health and fitness. After experiencing the powerful impact that training had on my life, both physically and mentally, I realized I wanted to help others achieve the same positive transformations.

I graduated with a B.S. in Kinesiology fromPenn State University in 2008. I started earning and acquiring credentials and certifications in Exercise Physiology (ACSM), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA), and Certified Special Populations Specialist (NSCA), to name a few. I wanted to be prepared as best I can to train professional athletes, the general population, to special populations (ortho, medical limitations). The more people I helped, the more I saw the unique challenges everyone faces on their fitness journey, and that inspired me to develop personalized programs tailored to each individual.

Eventually, I launched John Monteleone Fitness to create a supportive community where clients could receive expert guidance, accountability, and motivation. Over the years, my business has grown through word-of-mouth, client success stories, and a commitment to continually learning and evolving my approach.

Today, John Monteleone Fitness stands for more than just workouts—it’s about building healthier lifestyles, supporting one another, and achieving goals together. I’m grateful for the opportunity to do what I love every day and to help others live their strongest, healthiest lives.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I would not say struggles, but there had been some bumps along the way…

I launched John Monteleone Fitness in 2020 and moved across the country from Reading, PA, to Los Angeles, CA.

I was ready to start on my own as a business owner and practitioner.

Along the way, moving from Reading, PA to Los Angeles, CA is culture shock (small town v big city),
COVID pandemic (adjusting, as we all did!), growing your new business in a new town with no clients is bumpy.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about John Monteleone Fitness?
