Rising Stars: Meet Celro Romak of Los Angeles, CA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Celro Romak

Hi Celro, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am a stay at home mom who enjoys filming makeup videos. Growing up in the early 2000s, I was there when youtube was picking up. There were lots of people sharing their love for makeup. I decided to turn on my webcam and filmed my makeup routine back in 2010. Since then, I fell in love with sharing my love for makeup. It is a creative outlet for me even as a kid. Now, as a mom, I realized, I can make something out of this. I am still a micro-influencer but I do get invited by brands and share their products with me. It is a fun creative outlet for me as a mom. It is like therapy!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It is challenging, indeed. I sometimes feel discouraged. It took a year before a brand actually noticed me. Seeing other content creators getting all the views and followers, it is hard not to compare. Sometimes I think If I even got it. I often ask myself if this is even worth doing. But I always have to ground myself. I remind myself often that as long as I am enjoying what I’m doing, then that’s all that matters. The small audience that I have gets inspired from what I post and that is already a win for me.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I used to manage dental offices. But now, I am a stay at home mom since the pandemic started. I realized how important it is to spend time with my kids. I can always get a job when I want to. But time with my kids? I cannot get that back.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I love listening to zen spa music. That’s what keeps me sane. I don’t really dabble into different things now because a lot of information out there are not accurate and it can corrupt my brain. Id rather stay still and observe and focus on what is going on in my life.
