Hi Jenelle, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been a smooth road. Being an entrepreneur and running any business, is stressful. There is a lot of pressure on you to get results for the clients who have entrusted you with their own companies. I started my PR agency out of my apartment in New York, with just a laptop and cellphone. In the early days, there were times when I wasn’t sure I would even make rent. Many times I was tempted to give up, but I persevered, pushed through and here I am 15 years later.
We’ve been impressed with Jenelle Hamilton Inc., but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Jenelle Hamilton PR, a boutique agency with a presence on both coasts, partners with brands across fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and food. Known for crafting communications’ campaigns that spark viral cultural moments, the agency has built a reputation for helping startup brands thrive, leveraging its extensive business and talent connections to secure valuable deals. Over the past year, Jenelle Hamilton PR orchestrated a sensational viral moment at the 2024 Grammy Awards, where iconic costume designer Bob Mackie dressed Miley Cyrus, leading to a 150% surge in searches for the designer. Curated a star-studded premiere for the documentary ‘Bob Mackie: Naked Illusion.’ As well as helped to reposition Julien’s Auctions, the world-record-breaking auction house and introduce them to a new audience. The agency’s growth in 2024 was driven by strategic foresight, innovation, and strong industry partnerships, all while delivering exceptional results and exceeding client expectations.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Having the hard work gene! If you want to succeed in business and go out on your own, you need to be prepared to put in the work. In the early days I worked 12 hour days. I didn’t take vacations and I poured all the capital I made back in to the business. I didn’t shop or my anything for myself (i.e. clothes, shoes and bags) for 5 years! It was hard, but I am reaping the rewards now and it was worth the sacrifice.
