Conversations with Cleanne Viana

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cleanne Viana

Hi Cleanne, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started photography about 7 years ago. My dad used to be a photographer and had a bunch of equipment and I was blessed that he passed it all down to me. I honestly think if that never happened then I wouldn’t be where I am today. I started off just taking pictures of my friends after school and just messing around and I immediately fell in love with it. I knew I had the eye for it and I knew thats what I wanted to do with my life. After high school I decided to go to college but I was still doing photography. I was trying to do photography full time so I was just planning a bunch of passion projects as I can. Around 2020 is when I started to get paid and gain recognition. Shortly after I got the opportunity to travel the world with an artist named @beachboii and dropped out of college to pursue it full time. Around 2021 I owned my own studio and then worked for a creative agency for a bit until I went freelance again. When I went freelance again I decided to start over and rebrand. I made a new Instagram, and completely rebranded my logo and website. I was based in Miami my whole life until last year I took a trip to LA for vacation and realized I wanted to be out here full time, so I went back home for 2 weeks, packed my stuff and moved to LA on a whim. It was truly the best decision I’ve ever made and i feel like I’m producing my best work out here!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has defiantly not been a smooth road but everything I’ve done has been so worth it. I felt like I was lost most of the time I was creating art and I didn’t know why I was creating it. I knew I loved it but I couldn’t find my sense of style for it until recently and that’s why I decided to completely rebrand and just start fresh.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Im a photographer and I specialize in conceptual work. I also creative direct, produce, and etc. I would say I’m mostly known for my compositions and dimensions in my pictures. I’m mostly proud of starting over. Starting over is a scary thing. Especially when you’ve been in the game for 7 years and you created an entity behind a brand but it wasn’t what I wanted and starting fresh was the best decision I ever made and now I’m producing my best work. I think what sets me apart from others is the way I compose a shot and also having a distinct editing style.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
What qualities I think is important to my success and what I try to implement is organization and consistency. Organization is what keeps me on top of things and consistency is what is getting my work more recognized.
