Today we’d like to introduce you to Donny Loc

Hi Donny , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Well I am born and raised in south central Los Angeles. I’ve been rapping for a little over 10 years I started at 15 and made a name for myself early in the game , establishing album placement on Skeme’s Ingleworld 2 album featuring on a track called “Workin”. It was as then I was solidified as an artist in South Central. I was already a local staple being I created one of the most popular young party groups as a teenager that went by “Top Notch” and the momentum just spilled into music when I really started taking it serious. I have many notable songs and featured songs I’ve appeared on. I am an audio engineer as Well and I record / mix and master all my music. I run a studio that is open for booking “Cash Recordings” located in Los Angeles, CA. I am currently working on an album I am already about 75% finished with, have some dope collaborations on there and am very excited to release and share with the fans.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not been smooth at all. It’s an up & down type of situation but I’ve stayed strong and pro-active through any trial or tribulation I’ve endured or experienced. I was shot in February of 2021 and it’s been a challenge to get back where I was mentally and career wise, I was in a good position. Physically I’ll never be the same because my fibia and tibia both shattered and I had to learn how to walk again. I am now walking well but still go through pain and is still some what uncomfortable day to day. Other than that I’ve dealt with regular problems, up and down. I am a Dad with a 2 year old son so I just focus on being a dad and my eyes on the prize I never stopped working though

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Rapper, Songwriter & Audio engineer. I run my own studio and offer opportunities to my peers and other upcoming artists. I am know for being an intellect & a bridge from the streets to a safe space in music that’s also well connected. The things that set me apart from others is my constant drive ,self motivation and inspiration i that I consistently push on myself. I also don’t feed into narratives for an image that can spill onto our youth. I try to be a role model and a pillar in the community

How do you think about happiness?
My kid makes me happy as well as being around other family, creating in a safe space and making something dope, thrift shopping, of course getting ale money I am a natural born hustler it’s all I do everyday I’m outside trying to get some money. Watching sports and gambling are also fun to me
