Today we’d like to introduce you to Memo Villasenor
Hi Memo , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Album art work and music videos led me down the path to photography. Growing up in Boyle Heights in the 90’s I could watch hours worth of music videos or sit and listen to hours of music while going through every album/Cd covers allowing me to discover Photographers like Charles Peterson & Dean Karr. I knew I wanted to documents and capture moments in time. My hope is for a viewer to hear a photograph or experience a moment in time. Over the years I have been very fortunate to have been able to work with such amazing bands from all types and genres like All Souls, La Pobreska, Cultist and many more. Over the years my work has grown allowing me to branch out further than music
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been fun for sure. Every photoshoot allows me to learn something new. Aside from the nervousness off missing that one perfect shot it been hard work but a fun journey
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My work is documenting. I specialize in live events, Capturing performers do what they do best so over the years I am know for my Concert photography or live events. Thought I have photographed weddings and Quience’s to Cityscapes I think I will always been known for live music photography.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success for me is have the ability to produce art as I see it, beings fortunate enough that people enjoy my work, Having clients approach me and allowing me to be free with how and what I shoot.
