Today we’d like to introduce you to Tetiana Krusir
Hi Tetiana, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey into the floral and event industry has been anything but conventional. I have two master’s degrees — one in Management of Foreign Economic Activity and another in Pedagogy. Before moving to the U.S., I worked in logistics, a field I truly enjoyed. However, relocating meant starting from scratch in a completely new environment.
My entry into floristry was somewhat unexpected. I initially got a job at an event agency, but after just a month, I was let go without much explanation. That was a tough period — I felt lost and uncertain about my next steps. But instead of giving up, I decided to take control of my own path. That’s when I launched Make My Day Flowers, initially as an online shop specializing in bouquets.
Bouquets remain the heart of my business — they are a way to bring beauty and emotion into people’s everyday lives. Whether it’s a gift for a loved one, a special occasion, or just a way to brighten someone’s day, I love creating arrangements that carry meaning. Over time, I expanded my work to event decoration, as I saw how flowers transform spaces and create unique atmospheres.
Now, as I continue to grow Make My Day Flowers, I’m also stepping into event planning. I see it as a natural extension of what I do — bringing beauty, style, and organization together to create unforgettable moments. My goal is to build a brand that reflects not just my creative vision but also my entrepreneurial spirit.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all—it has been a journey full of challenges, but each obstacle has shaped me into the entrepreneur I am today.
One of the biggest struggles was starting from scratch in a new country. I had experience in logistics and a strong educational background, but I had to completely rebuild my career in a field where I had no prior experience. When I got my first job at an event agency, I was excited to be part of the industry. However, after just a month, I was let go without much explanation. That experience was discouraging, but instead of giving up, I decided to take control of my future and start my own business.
Another challenge was learning how to promote my business independently. I had to figure out how to attract customers, build a brand, and establish a presence in a competitive market. I immersed myself in digital marketing, tested different strategies, and gradually found what worked best.
Balancing creativity and business has also been a learning curve. Floristry is an art, but running a flower shop means managing orders, logistics, customer service, and marketing all at once. It took time to find the right workflow and systems to keep everything running smoothly.
Despite the struggles, I wouldn’t change a thing. Every challenge has pushed me to grow, adapt, and build a business that truly reflects my vision.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Make My Day Flowers, I specialize in creating elegant, thoughtfully designed floral arrangements that bring beauty and emotion to any occasion. My main focus is on creating stunning bouquets and arrangements—whether in boxes, baskets, or other elegant designs. Whether it’s a surprise for a loved one, a special celebration, or just a way to brighten someone’s day, I believe flowers have the power to create meaningful moments.
Beyond bouquets, I also work with event decoration, crafting floral designs that transform spaces and set the perfect atmosphere. My approach combines aesthetics, balance, and attention to detail to create arrangements that feel both stylish and natural.
What sets me apart is my ability to blend artistic creativity with a strong business mindset. I don’t just create beautiful flowers—I build a brand around them, ensuring that every client gets an experience that feels personal, seamless, and memorable. My journey into floristry was unconventional, and I think that gives me a unique perspective. Coming from a background in logistics and foreign economic management, I bring a structured, strategic approach to my business while still prioritizing creativity and individuality.
I am most proud of the fact that I built Make My Day Flowers from the ground up, turning a passion into a growing business. It hasn’t been an easy road, but every order, every happy customer, and every new opportunity reminds me why I started. Seeing my work bring joy to people is the most rewarding part of what I do.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My biggest advice for those just starting out is to trust yourself and take action, even if things feel uncertain. When I first started, I had no roadmap—I had to figure out everything on my own. Looking back, I realize that the most important thing is to start, even if you don’t feel 100% ready. Growth comes through action.
Another key lesson is to be adaptable and open to learning. Running a business isn’t just about doing what you love—it’s about marketing, finances, customer service, and problem-solving. The more you learn about these aspects, the stronger your business will be. If something isn’t working, don’t be afraid to adjust your approach and try something different.
I also learned that building connections and showing your passion for what you do can make a big difference. People appreciate authenticity and dedication, so don’t be afraid to share your story, engage with your customers, and let them see the effort behind your work.
And finally, don’t let setbacks discourage you. Every entrepreneur faces challenges, rejections, and moments of doubt. But if you stay committed and keep moving forward, those struggles will turn into valuable lessons that shape your success.
