Conversations with Kristen Case

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen Case

Kristen, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
When I was younger , my mom put me in improv classes and acting classes which was always a joy as a kid . I would listen to casting director that would come in as guests and really enjoyed them giving redirects to others and realized that I wanted to pursue behind the camera and the rest is history . In college I did a total of 8 internships and enjoy trying things that I did not end up liking to production which is where I am the most happiest . Getting to collaborate and work with friends old and new is one of the greatest joys.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There were challenges along the way definitely . LA can feel like transactional in relationships and always trying to keep innovating and learning new technologies . It has not been smooth because you need to network because every time I have networked you never know where that can lead to . Always be clear what you want to do. I have tried a lot of different film production positions. Give yourself the confidence to try it . It can feel the pressure of having to pick something right away . Enjoy the process.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I had the honor of being one of the associate producer for the feature film Lockjaw which I am so proud of . Lockjaw had its world premiere at Slamdance 2025 for its first year in Los Angeles . The teamwork on Lockjaw was something I will never forget . We all did multiple jobs and believed in the script knowing that it was different and special.
In addition I have held various production positions from production assistant to art department to wardrobe not all the same time . What sets me apart is my passion. I know that I do what I love everyday. Another one is my persistence to when I need to solve a problem I will look at every angle possible to make it happen.
I am currently writing a pilot and more directing projects in the works .

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory was trips I would take with my sister to Texas and see our cousins . We would spend 4 weeks out of the summer in the pool, biking and getting ice cream. Whenever I think of summer I think of that time.
