Check Out Luchy Salvador García’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Luchy Salvador García

Hi Luchy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Luchy Salvador García, a 21 year old Spanish artist finding my way in LA. I was always enticed to the arts; it was like a magnet was pulling me to them. Since I was a little kid I would always dance, sing and make performances for my family, at my school, in town,… I did rhythmic gymnastics when I was younger and I was an Elite Gymnast, one of the best ones in my country. I studied in an Arts High School in my city, Valencia; studied musical theatre and dance professionally and worked in both fields all over my Community and Spain. I know almost every single dance style you could think about. I am also trained in singing and worked as a singer in musicals, dinner shows,…
I always knew I was going to move to LA, it was a gut feeling, it called me. When I found out about the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles, I did not doubt to audition, but I had to save money first. Even though my family supports me blindly and are always there for me; we don’t have the best economical situation. I always provided for myself, not wanting to charge my parents with more. I also owe my American family for welcoming me as one of their own. So I had to stay for a couple of years more in Spain to work and earn the money I needed. Even though it slowed me down, I am grateful that I did, because I learnt more than I thought I could from my choreographer, Rory Santos.
in January of 2023 I moved to LA, and in August, I started in AADA. This May I will be graduating and looking for and creating opportunities to work, learn, share and teach in my field.
I’m a hard worker and, as always, I will be doing my best and I will find my way.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When I was 8 years old I was going to have a little sister; but the day of labor, her heart stopped and we lost her. It was rough because I already had everything ready for her in my room and I was old enough to understand what happened but still young to manage my emotions properly.
When I was around 13, I was bullied in High School because I had good grades. They called me ‘library rat’ because my front teeth are big. I didn’t understand what was happening, I didn’t even notice that it was bullying until later. It caused me very bad anxiety which made me constantly sick. That led to missing school for two months, between staying home and being at the hospital. They didn’t know what I had, they just kept giving me different diagnoses. I almost lost a school year for absences.
Even though those were tough times, I pushed through them because I’ve always wanted to do more and because I was surrounded by people that love me.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an actor, dancer, singer and artist in general. If it has to do with arts I’m in. I am specialized in musical theatre, more technical dance styles and latin dances, I am also an acrobat.

I am known for being the tiny redhead that is always being thrown around the stage, with charming personality, sweet but powerful voice, graceful and strong movement and pretty and high extensions.

I’m really proud of the Christmas 2022 season; I was in three different shows at the same time, as ensemble in one and principal in the other two. I had from two, up to three shows a day for three weeks straight. I proved to myself that I could do it and I learnt and enjoyed a lot during the process. I am also really proud of my decision of fighting for my future moving to Los Angeles.

My dedication and hard work is what sets me apart. It’s getting more and more difficult to find people that actually work for it and I am one of the few who is willing, and will put in the hard work. Also variety, I am a Triple Threat and more if you let me.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
My favorite thing is the level of opportunity that is always presented. This is the perfect place to learn, work, grow as a person and boost my career. I love the diversity that exists; the people, the culture, the neighborhoods, the food,.. I always enjoy learning and trying new things. I made friends in LA from all over the world and it is the best gift I could get from the city.

The only thing I don’t like is that I can’t buy my grandmas’ food at any supermarket or restaurant. I’m trying to learn from them and cook it myself, but it’s just not the same.
