Today we’d like to introduce you to Yeva Poghosyan the owner of ARY D’PO Designer Jewelry
Hi Yeva, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am happy to share the story of ARY D’PO. My name is Yeva, and I started this beautiful journey with my husband and best friend, Arman Poghosyan.
We were born in Armenia, which at that time was part of the Soviet Union – a country that doesn’t exist anymore. Through the difficulties of surviving a country’s collapse and the painful re-birth of the independent Armenia, we still preserved our love of humanity, integrity, and dignity. Eventually, Arman and I made the decision to move to the United States in 2003. We faced new challenges, as we had to adapt to a new culture and build a new life from scratch, but we always stayed positive, and we never lost our passion for art and jewelry.
Arman is a talented designer with a Bachelor’s degree in Art and Industrial Design and over 25 years of design experience. He has worked on projects for major retail and hotel chains, as well as global brands like Kathy Ireland and Tommy Bahama. Arman is a true artist, and he uses modern technology to create each original design with utmost thought and care.
As for me, I have mostly worked in leadership roles for the finance and entertainment industries. I am a California Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and I have positioned myself as a much sought-after specialist helping companies improve their structure, efficiency, record-keeping, and compliance. For ARY D’PO, I oversee the company’s operations and help Arman in the design process, adding that essential woman’s touch.
Combining two powers, creative and business, together, we created ARY D’PO in 2019, a quality award-winning jewelry boutique located in Los Angeles, California. We were immensely lucky and honored to have won the JCK Jewelers’ Award within the very first year we launched our brand. This motivated us to move forward and continue the work we love. Every year since then, our company has had greater and greater levels of success and we are so proud and excited for the future.
Each piece we create is an original design, ethically crafted with integrity and care. ARY D’PO jewelry is all about warmth, positivity, and blurring the lines between art and jewelry.
Our philosophy is simple – we want to create quality jewelry that marries art and nature. Many of our designs are inspired by the wonders of the natural world, and we strive to capture the magic of the world we live in.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I can’t imagine anyone having a smooth road while building a brand and we are not an exception 🙂 Of course, we had a lot to learn about the industry, the jewelry making itself, the branding & marketing, e-commerce, and how to use funds efficiently. Well, we made mistakes and learned how to fix them on the way, but “what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger” and we are grateful for that learning experience.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My specialty is Accounting, Finance & Business Strategy. I have a Master’s Degree in Accounting and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics & Management. Also, I am a California Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a strong leader with 26-year experience in finance and accounting, including 20 years of efficient strategic and tactical leadership roles and 15-year practice in the entertainment industry. So it happens that I am always where the help is needed the most, as resolving challenges is one of my strengths and I genuinely love helping people 🙂
My husband, on the other hand, is the most talented person I know! He is a professional designer with 25+ years of experience, highly specialized in Product Design & Development, 3D Modeling & Digital Sculpting for all style categories (Modern, Contemporary, Traditional, Coastal, Transitional, and others). His main strengths are creativity and the ability to conceptualize new ideas and products while considering cost efficiency. His academic and technical skills are invaluable for our brand’s success.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
While we keep our business environment very professional, it is also centered around our family, which is pretty much an open book, not much is hidden from people who know us. My mom is a retired doctor who is always quick with an effective home remedy. And my daughter is a smarty-pants finishing up her 1st year of law school.
Although my husband and I spend most of our time “working our magic” on ARY D’PO, we love comedy shows and action & adventure movies, and despite the fact that our daughter is all grown up, my husband and I can often be spotted watching the same children’s animated movies we watched with her.
