Today we’d like to introduce you to Persephanii.
Hi Persephanii, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am an actress, model, artist, podcast host and beauty entrepreneur native to Los Angeles. After playing college basketball, I transitioned into modeling, after my first shoot was chosen as the cover shot for a magazine I was working with I knew that modeling was a real passion for me with potential. In the interim between going to school, finishing with my master’s degree so far, and modeling I worked as a therapist for many years. In the years since I have begun modeling, I’ve grown a dedicated over 1 million strong fan base, done hundreds of modeling shoots, started a skincare line – Aahana Vibrations -, a clothing line – Sophisticated Signatures – and a youtube channel that now has over 200,000 subscribers.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been tough to break the stigma around voluptuous women in the media. From issues with my content being taken down to being temporarily demonetized on some platforms, even when the content is pre-approved and not explicit. I embrace these challenges and overcome them to further advocate for breast health and body positivity, I hope to pave the way for other women like me.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
In modeling, I have been lucky enough to work with brands like Fashion Nova Curve, Brassy Bra and Dolls Kill. I am also an ambassador for Up Where We Belong. I’m the most proud of being able to shine a light on and bring representation to my experience and those like me. This year I’ve really been able to expand my outreach with my new podcast, the Bumping Heads Podcast, that I started with some of my closest friends. There we are able to give our perspective on everything from relationships & music to pop culture. Another proud point of my career is how far I’ve come along with my acting. With my roots in comedy sketches with the likes of Bigg Jah and Minks, I hope to one day make it to the big screen.
What matters most to you?
The most important thing for me is my family and friends (including my baby pomeranian Carson), spending time with them and making sure they are okay is my top priority. Secondly, another important goal of mine is to make an impact on increasing body diversity and promoting breast health.
