Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonzel Williams.
Hi Jonzel, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Compton and LA. I started washing cars when I was ten years old. I first started off washing family member’s cars for fun and would just tell them to tip me when I was younger, lol. Now 20 years later, I’m owning my own business with two and a half employees the half is my two years old son Josiah, lol and taking care of family for a better future. I really got into cars and motorcycles because of my dad JB Williams (r.i.p) and my uncle Trent they always took me out on Crenshaw to see the lowriders or had me in their cars. Now I have my own son so I continue the legacy with him and he loves it.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Running a business is never smooth some days, you have good days and other days you just gotta keep going no matter how hard it gets. One of the struggles I had was losing my father to pancreatic cancer in 2019 he was a strong fighter and rode it out to the end. But days when I feel down, I know he is very happy up there looking down on his kids.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a mobile detailer. I bring your car back to life, lol. I wash and wax cars and give them that “WET” look. I’m known for making sure the customer or customers are always happy once I’m done with their car or motorcycle. I would say the most thing I’m proud of is being my own boss and waking up every morning knowing I own my own business. The reason I’m set apart from others is that I don’t care what others are doing because I’m too busy trying to become a better young business owner.
What’s next?
One of my plans for the future is to own my own building so I can have my own car wash where I can have cars pull up get the proper service or services they need.
