Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah McAtee.
Hi Sarah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
When I was 13, I had a teammate tell me a matter of factly, “Sarah, you’re going to be a Life Coach when you grow up!” At the time, I didn’t know exactly what that meant, but Life Coaching showed up again in my life when one of my college roommates started informally referring to me as her Life Coach. I just started laughing it off as I didn’t think Life Coaching was a real career option and at the time, I was studying to be a Marriage and Family Therapist. Well fast forward to 2014, when a friend reached out and asked if I wanted a free coaching session. Midway through the session, she said, “You know Sarah, my intuition keeps telling me that you need to be a Life Coach. You should look into getting certified.” I realized at that moment that Life Coaching had been knocking at my door for the last ten years and I probably should see where this takes me. I got certified in 2015 with a Law of Attraction based Life Coaching company and was offered a position working closely with the president of that company. Although the company is no longer around, it’s still some of the best training I have ever received. For the last seven years, I have been studying and practicing the Law of Attraction and the power of the subconscious mind. Although I started out as a Life Coach, I now refer to myself as a Subconscious Mind Coach. My passion really lies in coaching on the subconscious mind and being a witness to the massive shifts that happen when we reprogram our minds and rewrite our story.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Haha, definitely not, but I come from two parents who are entrepreneurs so I always knew what entrepreneurship was going to look like realistically. I was going into this for the long haul and knew that it was going to come with lots of trials and errors and failing forward. Heck, I’m still failing forward! I think the longest-standing obstacle I faced was building a business (and spending money to do that) while working full time to financially support myself. There was months where I would have to put my Life Coaching dream on the back burner so that I could focus on staying afloat. But I think that’s where leveraging the Law of Attraction comes in handy. I manifested so many opportunities over the years that helped me keep building it. Whether that was weeks, I wasn’t exchanging time for money but was still getting paid, or manifesting jobs where I made more money per hour so that I could decrease my hours. At the end of the day, I love this work and it has made all the bumps in the road worth it!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I work with Ambitious Creatives who have a basic to advanced knowledge of Law of Attraction and have a deep desire to experience their fullest potential. Some coaches help you find what you want and find your direction. I’m the coach you hire after you figure out what you want. They know the “what”, but they don’t know the “how”, I am there to bridge the gap for them.
During our sessions, I first “get to know your mind”. When you talk in our sessions, I’m not just listening to your words, I’m listening to your beliefs that are shown to me through your choice of words and phrasing. Words are super powerful and specific words will have a certain “charge” for you. These words that are activated in you are directly tied to a belief. It’s my job to discover what that belief is so that we can release it (through a breathwork technique) and then replace it with a new belief we want you to believe moving forward. My main goal and focus during our time together is to create new mental habits and reprogram your subconscious mind so that this new programming causes you to create and attract your desires easier and quicker.
Most rewarding part of coaching is definitely seeing the transformation my clients have on their thinking. As the new conditioning begins to take effect, they start to word things differently, they start to catch themselves when they are going down a mental path that doesn’t serve them, they start seeing situations from a place of responsibility causing them to stand fully in their power, and of course they start to attract amazing people and opportunities into their life. Having a front-row seat to their journey is really a true honor.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
This is such an ironic question because whenever I bump into people I haven’t seen since childhood and they ask me what I have been up to / what career path I ended up taking, they always reply with, “Oh my gosh, that is so YOU!” I have always been observant, perceptive, deep and insightful. I knew at an early age how to hold space for people, even strangers. I’m the oldest so that naturally made me the path paver and guider. I was involved with pretty much every sport/after school activity you can think of, but gymnastics is what “stuck” and where I spent ten years of my life. Something I value more than anything is friendship and connection. There is nothing like two energies coming together to create magical moments. Looking back, I find that my adult life is really just a reflection of me as a child mixed with experience, maturity, direction, and groundedness.
