Meet Zenfinity Pictures

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zenfinity Pictures.

Thanks for sharing your story with us. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
Zenfinity Pictures was formed early last year when we were hired to write, produce and direct a short film (Incall), but the roots of our company grew long before that – from a solid friendship. When we met, we were both performers and drawn to each other’s artistry.

As we spent time together we realized we shared more than just mutual respect for one another’s work; we were headed down the same career path and on a similar journey of self-discovery. We decided fairly quickly to combine our experience, knowledge, and skills and create our own film projects.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Our foray into producing and directing was relatively seamless, due in large part to our experience on sets, but also to those we surrounded ourselves with. In this cut-throat industry of ever-changing trends and tech, we make it a point to learn from the best, but talented crew don’t come cheap, nor do HD 3D cameras and so on.

Like many small business owners will tell you, we wish we had more capital to start (and invest in our first film), but if we had waited for the money, we wouldn’t be writing now.

Aside from stretching a dollar and navigating the festival circuit, we haven’t encountered too many obstacles yet, however strengthening relationships with digital download and streaming retailers is our next order of business.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We’re a provocative female writing and directing team proudly persevering in this climate of change. Our goal is to make as many dynamic and memorable films as time and money will allow, whilst committing to inclusion and diversity in front of and behind the camera.

We believe with careful planning and the support of minority-centric resources such as Women In Film, we’ll be able to elevate marginalized voices in the industry. We were thrilled to employee a female-heavy cast and crew on Incall, our first short, as the story explores sexual power play, greed, and deception from a female perspective. We’re particularly proud of Incall, as the experience marked our joint directing debut and was completed on budget and ahead of schedule!

Being performers with network and blockbuster credits in our own right, we can communicate more effectively and relate more easily to our talent. We empower our actors (as well as our crew) to make bold choices, push boundaries and challenge their abilities by creating a safe space conducive to experimentation and discovery.

Our company prides itself on fostering a culture of honesty, appreciation, adaptability, and harmony. By leveraging each other’s strengths and continually improving our processes, we’re able to make award-winning films that impact audiences lives in a meaningful way. We’re not afraid to tackle controversial subject matter or take creative risks.

We experiment with storytelling, photography, set design and score and hire talent based on their performance skills (as well as their star meter). If we’re to continue to be filmmakers of interest on the indie scene and someday attract the attention of Studios, we must tell timely, thought-provoking stories from unique perspectives using innovative approaches and unconventional means.
