Meet Yash Arora

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yash Arora.

Hi Yash, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always had a burning passion to be involved in the world of film, no matter what it took. At the tender age of seven, I began my journey by auditioning, but unfortunately, I failed miserably. Nonetheless, I knew deep down that my destiny was intertwined with the film industry. I tried my hand at directing short films, but the process didn’t bring me any joy. At the beginning of my career, I didn’t even know what a producer did. However, everything changed when I landed an internship at Sony Pictures Network, and there I met two outstanding individuals, Pragya Mehra and Amogh Dusad. They taught me the value of being part of something bigger than myself. Despite my demanding schedule of attending college during the day and working until midnight, I remained undeterred. It wasn’t until I was recognized for my work at Glitch that I finally became a Producer. I can’t express the emotions I felt when my hard work was finally acknowledged. Worked in India for over four years with top-tier firms like Netflix, Disney, Microsoft, Red Bull to name a few and the rest is history.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
As a producer, one of the biggest struggles I’ve faced is managing ego. In the entertainment industry, there are many talented and creative individuals who all have their own ideas and visions for a project. It can be challenging to balance all of these different perspectives and personalities and to ensure that everyone is working together towards the same goal.

One of the key skills that a producer needs to have is the ability to communicate effectively and to manage conflicts as they arise. It’s important to create a collaborative and supportive environment where everyone feels heard and valued. At the same time, a producer needs to be able to make tough decisions and assert themselves when necessary to ensure that the project stays on track.

Managing ego can also be a personal struggle for a producer. It’s important to stay grounded and to remember that the success of a project is not solely dependent on one individual but rather on the entire team working together. It’s easy to get caught up in one’s own accomplishments and to lose sight of the bigger picture, but as a producer, it’s crucial to stay focused on the ultimate goal and to work towards it with humility and dedication.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m in all probability, the quietest person in any room, but with the loudest ideas. I’ve spent years working on branded video content as a Producer with an editorial-first approach, and am probably still wondering how to shorten this sentence to maximize optimization. I offer more than five years of experience in managing creatives, production and communications for top-tier firms like Netflix, Disney+Hotstar, Microsoft, Redbull, Bumble, CRED, Diageo to name a few.

I am known for my ability to bring creative projects to life, from concept to completion. I excel at identifying and nurturing talent, as well as finding unique and innovative ways to tell stories and engage audiences. What I’m most proud of is my ability to balance creativity with practicality. Producing creative content is a challenging and often unpredictable process, but I have developed the skills to manage the various stakeholders involved while still prioritizing the artistic vision. I have a keen eye for detail and am able to navigate the complexities of the industry to ensure that the project meets its goals.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory was watching movies with my parents every Monday. It was a special tradition that we looked forward to every week, and it brought us closer together. I remember the anticipation of waiting for Monday evening to arrive and the excitement of picking out a movie to watch together. The shared experience of enjoying a film with my loved ones is something that I’ll always cherish, and it created happy memories that I’ll never forget
