Today we’d like to introduce you to Wanda Wen.
Wanda, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have had an affinity for paper, nature, seeing the beauty in simplicity, and have an admiration for people of who work with their hands and hearts. I am drawn to the artisanal and feel that as we dive deeper into the digital world, anything that is tactile and of the human hand becomes so much more important and valuable.
I am also passionate about celebrating human beings. I choose to see the light in everybody I meet, and if they can’t see through the fog to their own light, I am moved to guide them see their gifts. This is where my yoga practice comes and lead me to become a certified yoga instructor with 500-hr RYT.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Life is not a smooth road. If it were, it would be boring. As well, I believe that life puts challenges and hurdles in each of our lives for a reason. The reason? For us to grow.
The biggest challenge in my life was raising my three children as a single mom while keeping my business going. It required everything I had – faith, trust, patience, dedication, grit, tenacity, belief in myself and most importantly, an openess to life and life’s process. I consider myself fortunate, and though my past is not the white-picket-fence picture, it somehow was ideal for me, and allowed for my own self discovery and unearthing my inner strength.

Soolip is a creative agency and a lifestyle brand, with its roots in paper and tactile communication. We are creative problem-solvers that can turn a need, desire or vision into an elevated, tangible product. YogaLand Game is an all-new experiential board game for the yoga enthusiast. I define it as a cross of CandyLand, Cranium, Pictionary and Twister with a dose of therapy all in one. YogaLand brings awareness of yoga and its eight-limbed path to the forefront. It bridges the world of yoga and everyday life, making yoga approachable and exhibiting how yoga and its mindful sensibility can be integrated into our modern life.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Would like to see Soolip reach a broader audience, inspiring more people that beauty is everywhere if we choose to open our eyes and hearts, that strength includes softening, that winning includes lifting others, and that love and truth are what sets us free. I plan to continue creating more product and experiences that are meaningful, beautiful, inspiring and soulful.
I recently had a taste of the entertainment industry, and found it fun and exciting! I played myself as a judge on tv’s newest reality show, Wrap Battle, a gift wrap competition where nine expert gift wrappers battled it out for a grand prize. This aired during the holiday season in 2019. Not only am I hoping that we get picked up for more seasons, but I am also interested in creating my own lifestyle programming. Anyone wanna play?? YogaLand Game – my partners, Bryan Branly and Ashley Dean, and I are creating a beginners version, YogaLand 101. This version will be perfectly-suited for the yoga novice, whereas the current YogaLand is well-suited for a yoga teacher or one going thru a 200-hr yoga teacher training.
