Today we’d like to introduce you to Vito Glazers.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My journey started when I was attending art school at Columbia College in Chicago back in 2003. I always wanted to be an artist but found myself always neglecting my art because I came from a poor family and was always stressed out about paying my bills. A teacher I had in art school told me to focus on business, and that once I made a lot of money, I could come back to art and people would care more about it.
It was good advice. I dropped out of school and started my entrepreneurial journey, starting and failing at several businesses before finding success in advertising. I liked advertising because it allowed me to monetize my creativity. I love producing and acting, so I would often write myself into commercials I was producing or do the voiceovers so I could build my personal brand and express myself creatively while also delivering for our clients.
My career in advertising spans more than a decade. I found the most success in a field of digital advertising referred to as performance marketing, or affiliate marketing, where you advertise for companies and are paid a portion of all the new business you generate for them, rather than being paid a flat fee or retainer like most ad agencies are paid. It was a great opportunity for me to promote hundreds of different products and offers with very little work on my end besides developing good creative assets.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The industry became very mathematical and data-driven, and I lost my passion for it. In 2012, I decided to retire from performance marketing, and go back to my passion and primary focus, which was developing content and telling stories. Again I found myself working on TV shows, Films, and creative projects that were not producing any income, and I had gotten accustomed to a nice lifestyle. I realized there was an opportunity in helping creatives, entrepreneurs, and businesses tell their stories.
Please tell us about One World Publishing.
My years in media have blessed me with a tremendous network in Hollywood and around the world. So I have spent the past four years pivoting One World Publishing into one of the fastest-growing digital public relations firms in the world. One World Publishing is the first Public Relations company to win the 2 Comma Club for doing over $1,000,000 in sales in 2019. I built the company originally around the changing digital landscape, specializing in online reputation management for celebrities and public figures. I am most proud of the work I have done for many celebrities and CEO’s who have been falsely accused by people trying to profit from movements like the MeToo and TimesUp movements. In today’s culture, someone can be found innocent in court, but guilty in the media, regardless if the accusations against them are true or not. I always do my own research before taking on a client, no better feeling than helping fix the online reputation and public image of someone who has been falsely accused and damaged. Our mission is to help people and brands use celebrities and the media to tell their stories.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I were to start over today, I would spend more time helping other people tell their stories, and less time trying to promote myself. One of the magical things about Hollywood is that if you help enough people tell their story, someday, people tell yours.
