Today we’d like to introduce you to Victorine Deych.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It all began in my grandmother’s garden. I was completely captivated by the aromas, colors and the evolution from seed to plate or vase. My senses and deep connection to nature was opening up, and it was only years later that I aligned with my purest calling. Very early on, I knew that there was something inexplicably elevating by sharing a product or experience with someone that takes them on a brief journey outside of their reality, and then continues to give them new realities as they return for comparable experiences and engage with associated products. This led to my life as a designer. I created garments with exotic silks, organic cottons and hemp blends. From here, I created experiential retail concepts at which point I found myself completely absorbed in scent branding. All the dots began to connect, and I knew it was time to launch my own collection of aromatics.
I’ve always been an undercover wellness nerd so when it comes to natural scent…I mean ‘really’ natural rules my world. I decided to travel down the road less traveled through diving into the history of the most unique aromatic and highly healing plant oils. This was around six years ago, and lightening struck.. that cannabis is one of these plants. The essential oil and fragrance communities I studied with felt what I was trying to achieve was too complicated and told me to just add hemp oil. I pleaded that you can only achieve the benefits I was looking for and the mind-blowing aromatic profiles through the cannabis plant. At this point, I started studying terpenes (Organic compounds that provide aroma and flavor in cannabis and a variety of other plants). While terpenes are responsible for the aroma and flavors of cannabis, they also influence its effects by interacting with cannabinoids.) Bingo I thought, this is how I can achieve this spectacular aroma I have been dreaming of. Well fast forward, it took a few years as terpenes are very cost-prohibitive, but I was determined and feel really proud to finally share something I have dreamt of for so long.

With a passion for mental and physical vitality through scent, Dusted is exploring the outer boundaries of being by fusing scent within the health, luxury and entertainment realms. I believe that somewhere between extremes of our being – between our dark and light sides – we find balance, the epicenter of who we are, our individuality. From this duality, I created Dusted, a collection of unique, wild-crafted, organic, and ethically sourced scents.
I hold certifications in botanical perfumery and holistic nutrition, through Dusted, I combine my sense of adventure and expertise in products and experiences that engage the senses. With an insatiable thirst for impactful endeavors and products, Dusted continues to thrive.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s never smooth, however it’s always worth it..wherever the road leads you.
Creating a new category in a billion dollar space is a challenging road with lots of “you’re doing what?…is that legal?..” etc. etc.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Dusted – what should we know?
I’m leading the way in aromatic products using botanical and cannabis terpenes for enjoyment and functionally. I’m actually the first to create fragrance with cannabis terpenes. My pride comes from the joy and well being I see Dusted bring to so many. I travel the world to source the purest essential oils and terpenes. Some of my favorite places are Egypt, Kenya, and of course California for cannabis. Important note, I started a Plant Youth Eduction program and proceeds of any product inspired by the kids all go back to supporting high-risk youth.
