Today we’d like to introduce you to Vaspour Antanesian.
The two partners behind Elit Productions come from two opposing yet complementary backgrounds. Sepo, the creative director, has been in film business for the past decade and Vaspour comes from the world of finance and marketing. The two combine to offer a unique solution that addresses both the art and the business of advertising. It first started as a hobby in 2016 where we created our first consumer product in our basement which we named Elit Booth. We would rent this photo booth to various corporate events in order to promote our videography services. Since then, we have grown the company, have hired two full-time employees, accepted an outside investor, and now offer film and advertising services to business owners, realtors, and anyone else interested in sharing their story through the powerful medium of video. What sets us apart from our competitors is that we bring high production value and marketing expertise at a cost that small businesses can afford.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
One of the biggest challenges that we faced was to establish ourselves in this very unique category of film quality production for mass market appeal. Large corporations have millions of dollars in the budget for advertising but we are trying to compete with that quality for business owners that may have a budget of less than $10,000. Communicating the value add to individuals that may be using professional advertising for the very the first time has been a challenge. One that we are slowly overcoming as a majority of our work is coming from reoccurring clients that have seen that value add first hand.

Elit Productions is a full suite advertising and film production company. We primarily service small business owners, mid-sized corporations, and realtors. We have in house web design, graphic design, photography, but our core competency is certainly film/video production. We shoot with cinema line cameras and have complete post-production services for all of our footage. What sets us apart from the competitors is that we are able to provide film quality production at a cost that is affordable by many small business owners who would typically not be able to take advantage of professional advertising agencies. Our initial consults with our clients not only include creative solutions but also marketing and financial expertise to make sure their advertising dollars are spent profitably.
What were you like growing up?
I’ve been an entrepreneur ever since I can remember. Ever since grade school, I have had numerous odd jobs here and there but education had always been a priory. That lead me to a degree from UCLA is Biochemistry and Biomedical Research. However, that was never my passion. I was involved in a startup in college that failed, which really fueled my post-graduate career and motivated me for success. I was at a point where failure was simply not an option. My parents had given up their successful careers in Iran as a plastic surgeon and pharmacist to bring my brother and I to the US, so anything short of absolute success would have been a huge waste of my parent’s sacrifice. Out of college, I started as a financial advisor at AXA advisors where now I am a Vice President and responsible for managing a team of 18 people that oversea over 3000 client accounts. At the same time, I invested and CO-Founded Elit Productions. During my off time, which is a rare occasion, I like playing the guitar and or the piano. I also enjoy watching a quality movies with my family.
