Meet Valeria Gualdi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Valeria Gualdi.

Hi Valeria, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My career started when I dropped out of Med school in Italy in 2004 to pursue the arts. I decided to study advertising and fell in love with editing. The opportunity came and I visited a friend in LA and decided to attend the Los Angeles Film School. That’s where I made lifetime friends and met my husband Travis. I have been editing since and I was lucky enough to work with the best agencies, brands and people. My biggest thanks goes to Rik and Howard at Flawless, that really believed in me and gave me the opportunity to work on amazing projects. I now own my post company and freelance as well. My ultimate goal would be editing feature films but for now, I’m very happy in the commercial world!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Of course, it’s never a smooth road! Especially for a foreigner… I first struggle with the visa and worked for free on small student projects. Then reality TV in NY, I’m not even gonna go there… I moved back to LA after a three years parenthesis in NY and had to start all over again. That’s where I met the folks at Flawless and found my work family!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an editor, who has worked on Commercials, Music Videos, Films and Documentaries. I have been focusing on commercials and branded content lately as I find it always very different and stimulating. Since I was a little kid, I have always had an appreciation for visual content and commercial work helps me express that passion.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I’m always open to meet new people and collaborating on new projects. You can contact me through my website www.valeriagualdi.com.
