Today we’d like to introduce you to Uhlone
Thanks for sharing your story with us Uhlone. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m a 22 years old music producer. I got started playing piano at a very young age. I was always intrigued with music and how it affects our world today. Being young didn’t stop me from believing I could do anything if I put in the work/hours for it with loads of practice. I was signed to my first co-production deal at the age of 14 years old. From there, more opportunities started arising, meeting new people in the music industry while learning new technics.
Has it been a smooth road?
Being young and in a primarily adult industry, I had to grow up fast, quick, and smart. I don’t see it being an obstacle, but more of an experience. Every struggle I have had along the way, I use to my advantage by creating original music and by helping others to be heard; not to feel alone.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am known for being a signed music producer at a young age and I am known for being comfortable alone, hence my name. It’s who I am and have always been. The main difference between me and other music producers is the fact that I have records out without any recognition and I’m ok with it because that’s the part I admire the most. If anyone else could have their turn in the spotlight, they’d take it. I, on the other hand, love being the person in the studio, room, party, event, etc… that only a few know about, therefore, I’m treated as equal without benefit. Some music producers, artists, creatives, etc. crave the spotlight and attention, putting out music for the fame and not for others. Some might say for selfish reasons. That’s what sets me apart from others, that’s what makes me different, and that’s what makes me Uhlone.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Great question, to be 100% honest I don’t know where this industry will be in the next 5-10 years. I don’t know where it will be tomorrow. All I do know is if there are any music producers or creatives reading this, my advice is to follow trends, but still maintain true artistry. Be original, and don’t be afraid to put yourself out there.
